Mann Grabs Second CACC Player of the Week Honor
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Erin Mann of Holy Family has been selected as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Week. USciences' Brianne Traub is named CACC Rookie of the Week.
CACC Player of the Week
Erin Mann, Holy Family (Jr., C, 6-1, West Chester, PA) Averaged 21.5 points and 6.5 rebounds this week while shooting 64.5% from the floor. She also scored 29 points and grabbed 13 rebounds against #13 Rollins.
CACC Rookie of the Week
Brianne Traub, USciences (Fr., G, 5-8, Wayne, NJ) Continued scoring in double figures with 10 points against Millersville and 25 against West Chester. Averaged 6.0 rebounds and 3.5 steals.
Honorable Mention
Destiny Barnette, Felician (Sr., G, 5-6, Paterson, NJ) - Scored 26 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in a win over New Haven.
Christine Wooding, Philadelphia (Sr., C, 6-0, Northfield, NJ) - Collected a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Emily Hall, Bloomfield (Sr., G, 5-8, Montclair, NJ) - Scored 24 points, grabbed 7 rebounds, and stole the ball 5 times against St. Rose.
CACC Notes
Bloomfield - The Lady Deacons fell in their only contest of the week, dropping a road decision to Northeast-Ten Conference opponent The College of Saint Rose. Senior guard Emily Hall (Montclair, N.J.) notched a career-high 24 points, seven rebounds, three assists and five steals in the loss, while fellow senior Vanessa Lamison (Laurel, Md.) notched 13 points and seven rebounds. Junior forward Shaniqua Bacote (Paterson, N.J.) was also solid in the post, totaling 10 points and eight rebounds.
Concordia - Concordia will be back in action on
January 5th as they travel to Caldwell College for a 6 pm tip-off.
The Clippers will also host Chestnut Hill on Saturday at 1 pm at
the Meyer Athletic Center on the campus of Concordia College.
Holy Family - Holy Family, among teams receiving
votes in the recent USA Today/ESPN NCAA National Top-25
Coaches’ Poll, went 0-2 this past week as the Tigers competed
at the Rollins College Holiday Classic. Holy Family came up
short against Florida Tech (68-60) on day one and fell to
nationally ranked No. 13 Rollins (67-61) on the final day of the
tournament. Junior Erin Mann was named to the All-Tournament team
as she averaged 21.5 points and 6.5 rebounds during the two-day
tournament. Mann scored a new career-high against Rollins as
she scored 29 points and 13 rebounds to record her sixth
double-double of the season.
