HOLY FAMILY MOVES INTO TOP SPOT IN EAST REGION WOMEN'S BASKETBALL POLL

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Holy Family University moved into the top spot in the NCAA Women's Basketball East Region poll, which was released Wednesday. University of the Sciences moved into seventh, while Caldwell College is ninth. On the men's side, Bloomfield College is ranked ninth. 

Holy Family, ranked 17th in the recent USA Today/ESPN Division II National Top-25 Coaches’ Poll, move into the top spot after being ranked second in all previous polls. The Tigers improved to 20-3 overall and 17-1 in the CACC with a victory over USciences Wednesday night. The victory clinched Holy Family’s fourth straight CACC South Division Regular Season title and 11th overall. The Tigers will also be the No. 1 seed in south division in the upcoming conference tournament.

The University of the Sciences moved to seventh in the poll and is now 20-5 overall and 15-3 in the CACC. The Devils clinched the No. 2 seed for the CACC Tournament and will host Goldey-Beacom College on Monday night at 7:00 pm in the opening round.

Caldwell is ranked ninth in the region and sports a 19-5 overall record and is 15-3 in conference play. The Cougars can tie Bloomfield College and earn a North Division regular-season co-championship with a victory over Chestnut Hill Friday evening.

The Bloomfield men clinched a North Division regular-season championship Wednesday night with a victory over Wilmington University. The Deacons will host Felician College in the conference tournament opening round on Tuesday. BC is currently 18-8 overall and finished the conference season 15-3.
