2007-08 CACC Women's Basketball Weekly Award Winners

November 19

Player of the Week: Ashley Webster, Philadelphia (Sr., 5-10, F, Philadelphia, PA) - Filled the box score to the tune of 20 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, four blocks and one steal in a season-opening 96-73 victory over NYIT. She shot 7-for-11 (.636) from the field and 6-for-6 from the charity stripe.

Rookie of the Week: Kirsty Leedham, Caldwell (Fr., 5-9, G, Ellesmere Port, England) - Averaged 20.0 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.0 steals per-game in a 2-0 week for the Cougars. Opened her collegiate career with 21 points, five rebounds and four steals against Bloomsburg. Shot 43.8-percent (7-for-16) from 3-point range for the week.

November 26

Player of the Week: Amelia Simmons, Wilmington (So., G/F, 5-11, Wilmington, DE) - Tallied 21 points, 19 rebounds and two blocks in a 76-58 triumph over Lock Haven University. Shot 8-for-14 (.570) from the field, 2-for-5 from 3-point range and 3-for-3 from the charity stripe.

Rookie of the Week: Catherine Carr, Holy Family (Fr., F, 6-0, Bernardsville, NJ) - Averaged 19.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists in two victories last week. Recorded 26 points and five rebounds in a 69-57 win over Bridgeport and added 12 points, five assists and four boards in a 71-59 victory against Saint Michael's.

December 3

Player of the Week: Toni Jones, Goldey-Beacom (Sr., G/F, 5-9, Lewes, DE) - Led Goldey-Beacom to a 3-0 week with averages of 19.0 points, 9.3 rebounds and 2.0 steals per-game while shooting 47.1-percent (24-of-51) from the field. Opened CACC play with a 23-point, 11-rebound effort in a 63-49 victory over Georgian Court. She also recorded 16 points, 10 rebounds and four steals in a win over Lock Haven.

Rookie of the Week: Jacinda Jones, Goldey-Beacom (Fr., G, 5-8, Claymont, DE) - Helped lead the Lightning to a 3-0 week with averages of 15.7 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.3 steals per-game. Shot 54.5-percent (6-for-11) from 3-point range for the week, including a 5-for-6 performance against Columbia Union. She tallied 14 points and eight rebounds versus Georgian Court and added 26 points against Columbia Union.

December 10

Player of the Week: Mackenzie Lynch, Caldwell (Jr., F, 5-10, Wayne, NJ) - Averaged 21.5 points, 11.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 3.5 steals per-game in a 2-0 week for the Cougars. Recorded 23 points, 14 rebounds, three assists and three steals in a CACC victory over Goldey-Beacom. Also had 20 points, eight rebounds and four steals in just 20 minutes of action versus Concordia. Shot 50-percent (13-for-26) from the field and 17-for-20 (.850) from the free-throw line for the week.

Rookie of the Week: Catherine Carr, Holy Family (Fr., F, 6-0, Bernardsville, NJ) - Tallied 22 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one steal in a victory over Philadelphia. Shot 7-for-13 (.538) from the field, 3-for-5 (.600) from 3-point range and 5-for-6 (.833) from the charity stripe.

December 17

Player of the Week: Toni Jones, Goldey-Beacom (Sr., F, 5-9, Lewes, DE) - Registered 29 points, seven rebounds, seven steals and two assists in a road loss at Saint Michael's College on Saturday. She shot 12-for-23 (.522) from the field in the game.

Rookie of the Week: Catherine Carr, Holy Family (Fr., F, 6-0, Bernardsville, NJ) - Posted 25 points, five rebounds and two steals in a 66-49 victory at NYIT. Shot 8-for-16 from the field, 2-for-4 from long range and 7-for-8 from the charity stripe.

January 2

Player of the Week: Christine McCollum, Holy Family (So., C, 6-1, Abington, PA) - Led Holy Family to a 3-0 record over the holidays with averages of 11.7 points, 7.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.67 blocks and 1.33 steals per-game. Shot 54.5-percent from the field. Notched 17 points, 10 rebounds and two assists at Grand Canyon University. Also had 14 points, seven rebounds, two assists and two blocks against Western New Mexico.

Rookie of the Week: Steph Agger, Philadelphia (Fr., G, 5-7, Cape May, NJ) - Registered averages of 10.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 2.5 steals per-game in a 1-1 week. Posted 13 points, four assists, three rebounds and two steals versus Wilmington and added seven points, nine assists, eight rebounds and three steals in a win over Kutztown.

January 7

Player of the Week: Erin Chesnavich, USP (Fr., F, 6-2, Pittston, PA) - Shot 8-for-9 from the field and 2-for-2 from the free-throw line in a 73-38 triumph over Felician. Tallied 18 points, along with four rebounds, two blocks and one assist in 21 efficient minutes.

Rookie of the Week: Jacinda Jones, Goldey-Beacom (Fr., G/F, 5-8 Concord, DE) - Posted 15 points, five rebounds and two steals in a 77-40 home victory over Post. Shot 5-for-7 from the field, 1-for-2 from long range and 4-for-5 from the charity stripe.

January 14

Player of the Week: Erin Chesnavich, USP (Fr., F, 6-2, Pittston, PA) - Led USP to a 3-0 week with averages of 17.3 points, 12.0 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per-game, while shooting 62.9-percent from the field. She posted 28 points, 15 rebounds and five blocks against Goldey-Beacom and added 15 points on 7-for-8 shooting, and 11 rebounds at Caldwell.

Rookie of the Week: Jacinda Jones, Goldey-Beacom (Fr., G/F, 5-8, Concord, DE) - Averaged 19.3 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.3 steals per-game in three contests last week. Registered 22 points and nine rebounds at USP and collected 21 points and three rebounds at Mansfield.

January 21

Player of the Week: Catherine Carr, Holy Family (Fr., F, 6-0, Bernardsville, NJ) - Led Holy Family to a 3-0 week with averages of 22.0 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists while shooting 46.0-percent (23-for-50) from the field and 90-percent (18-for-20) from the free-throw line. Scored a CACC season-high and school-record 38 points in a win over Wilmington. Shot 13-for-26 from the field against the Wildcats and added eight rebounds and two assists. Later in the week, tallied 23 points (9-for-13 FG), three rebounds and three assists in a win over Caldwell.

Rookie of the Week: Kirsty Leedham, Caldwell (Fr., G, 5-9, Ellesmere, England) - Posted averages of 19.5 points, 1.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.5 steals in a 1-1 week. Poured in 23 points on 8-for-12 shooting, including 6-for-8 from behind the arc, in a win over Bloomfield. Followed with 16 points, two rebounds and three steals in a loss at Holy Family.

January 28

Co-Players of the Week: Nordia Henry, Wilmington (Sr., C, 6-2, Philadelphia, PA) and Ashley Webster, Philadelphia (Sr., F, 5-10, Philadelphia, PA) - Henry led her team to a 2-0 week with averages of 20.0 points, 10.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists per-game. She poured in 28 points and 10 rebounds at Goldey-Beacom and followed with 12 points, 11 rebounds and three assists against Bloomfield.

Webster helped lead the Lady Rams to a 2-0 week by averaging 18.0 points, 12.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals per-game. Recorded 25 points, 13 rebounds and two blocks in the win at Post. She also had 11 points, 11 rebounds and five steals versus Concordia.

Rookie of the Week: Jacinda Jones, Goldey-Beacom (Fr., F, 5-8, Claymond, DE) - Averaged 19.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 steals per-game in two contests. She tallied 21 points, seven rebounds, three steals and two blocks in a loss at Nyack.

February 4

Player of the Week: Toni Jones, Goldey-Beacom (Sr., F, 5-9, Lewes, DE) - Averaged 27.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.5 steals and 2.0 assists per-game in a 1-1 week. She tallied 29 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and four steals in a 71-64 win over USP. She also put up 26 points, seven rebounds and three steals against Philadelphia. She shot 56.3-percent (18-for-32) from the field for the week.

Rookie of the Week: Mallorie Michalak, Post (Fr., G, 5-0, Meriden, CT) - Averaged 15.0 points, 4.5 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals per-game in a 1-1 week. Shot 45.5-percent (10-22) from the field. She tallied 18 points and seven assists in a home victory against Nyack.

February 11

Player of the Week: Kelly Killion, Holy Family (Sr., G, 5-6, Pennsauken, NJ) - Led Holy Family to a 3-0 week with averages of 19.6 points, 6.6 assists and 2.6 rebounds per-game. Registered 24 points, six assists and four rebounds against Wilmington and added 20 points and six assists at Georgian Court. She shot 44.1-percent (15-for-34) from long range for the week, including 6-for-12 against Georgian Court and 6-for-13 against Wilmington.

Rookie of the Week: Catherine Carr, Holy Family (Fr., F, 6-0, Bernardsville, NJ) - Averaged 16.3 points, 8.6 rebounds and 3.0 assists per-game in a 3-0 week for the Tigers. She collected 18 points, 11 rebounds and two assists in a win over Philadelphia. She also tallied 15 points, nine rebounds and five assists against Wilmington.

February 18

Player of the Week: Nordia Henry, Wilmington (Sr., C, 6-2, Philadelphia, PA) - Averaged a double-double for the week with 19.5 points and 14.5 rebounds per-game. Also chipped in 3.0 assists, 2.0 blocks and 2.0 steals per-game. Recorded 23 points and 20 rebounds in a win over Lincoln and added 16 points, nine rebounds and three steals in a win at Post.

Co-Rookies of the Week: Caitlin Shaw, USP (Fr., G, 5-8, Eatontown, NJ) and Janae Weldon, Goldey-Beacom (Fr., G, 5-5, Trenton, NJ) - Shaw helped USP to a 3-0 week with averages of 11.3 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per-game. She recorded 18 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals in a victory over Nyack.

Weldon averaged 13.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.7 steals per-game in a 2-1 week. She tallied 15 points, three rebounds and two assists in a victory at Bloomfield.

February 25

Player of the Week: Toni Jones, Goldey-Beacom (Sr., G/F, 5-9, Lewes, DE) - Posted two 30-point outings last week against Wilmington and Dominican. Recorded 31 points and 13 rebounds at Wilmington and followed with 30 points and five rebounds against Dominican. Averaged 30.5 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists per-game for the week and shot 46.0-percent (23-50) from the field.

Rookie of the Week: Catherine Carr, Holy Family (Fr., F, 6-0, Barnardsville, NJ) - Averaged 15.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.0 steal per-game in a 2-0 week. She tallied 17 points, six rebounds and two steals at Nyack and contributed 13 points, four rebounds and three assists versus Chestnut Hill.

March 3

Player of the Week: Nordia Henry, Wilmington (Sr., C, 6-2, Philadelphia, PA) - Led Wilmington to a 2-0 week with averages of 18.5 points, 13.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists per-game while shooting 64.0-percent (16-for-25) from the field. Tallied 27 points and 11 rebounds on 11-for-16 shooting in a CACC Tournament Quarterfinal win over Philadelphia.

Rookie of the Week: Catherine Carr, Holy Family (Fr., F, 6-0, Bernardsville, NJ) - Averaged 14.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 blocks per-game in a 2-0 week. She registered 20 points and five rebounds in a CACC Tournament Quarterfinal victory over USP.

March 10

Player and Rookie of the Week: Catherine Carr, Holy Family (Fr., F, 6-0, Bernardsville, NJ) - Led Holy Family to its second straight CACC Tournament Championship by averaging 17.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per-game while shooting 47.5-percent from the field in the three games. She was named the Most Valuable Player of the Tournament. She tallied 11 points and seven rebounds in the championship game after notching 20 points in both the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds.

March 17

Player of the Week: Christine McCollum, Holy Family (So., C, 6-1, Abington, PA) - Helped lead Holy Family to the NCAA Northeast Region Championship game. In two tournament games, averaged 11.5 points, 10.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per-game while shooting 64.2-percent from the field.

Rookie of the Week: Catherine Carr, Holy Family (Fr., F, 6-0, Bernardsville, NJ) - Averaged 13.0 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists per-game in two NCAA Tournament games. She tallied 13 points against both Molloy and Assumption.
