HOLY FAMILY WOMEN'S HOOPS DOWNS DIVISION-I BUFFALO, 50-47

Buffalo, NY ? Three players scored in double figures to lead the Holy Family University women's basketball team to a 50-47 win over Division I University of Buffalo in an exhibition game on Thursday night at Alumni Arena in Buffalo.
Forward Catherine Carr (fr. Bernardsville, NJ/Bernards) led the victorious Tigers with 17 points and eight rebounds. Guard Kelly Killion (sr. Pennsauken, NJ/Camden Catholic) poured in 12 points. Center Christine McCollum (so. Abington, PA/St. Basil's Academy) recorded a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Melissa Brooks (so. Levittown, PA/Neshaminy) added nine points and eight boards. Guard Lauren Boyer (jr. Lebanon, PA/Lebanon Catholic) had a game-high eight assists.
The Bulls were led by forward Jamie Schiebner's double-double that consists of 10 points and 13 rebounds. Center Barbora Homolova led Buffalo with 14 points and had a game-high seven blocked shots.
Holy Family held a 29-24 lead at the half-time break. Carr quickly scored the first four points of the second half to give the Tigers their largest lead of the game (33-24). The Bulls came back with a 9-0 run, capped by a guard Stephanie Bennett triple, to tie the score at 33 with 16:38 to go. A pair of made free throws by forward Meghan Gibson (fr. Philadelphia, PA/Archbishop Ryan) ended a 6-0 spurt by the Tigers and put them in front 39-33 at the 14:30 mark. Buffalo answered with 10 of the game's next 12 points to take a narrow two-point lead (43-41) with 6:06 to play. Carr and Brooks combines for the next five points to put the Tigers back in the lead (46-43). Buffalo pulled within one (48-47) with 40 seconds left. Killion iced the contest by sinking two free throws with 26 seconds on the clock.
Buffalo led by as many as five (9-4) with 12:04 left in the opening half. The Tigers stormed back with nine unanswered points to take a 13-9 advantage less than two minutes later. After the Bulls tied the score at 15, the Tigers rattled off six straight points to take the largest lead by either team (21-15) with 6:45 left in the half.
Holy Family will take on another Division I opponent, Rider University, on Saturday, November 3 at 1 p.m. in Lawrenceville, NJ.
