LYNCH CLAIMS WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK ACCOLADES

NEW HAVEN, CT - Mackenzie Lynch of Caldwell College has claimed Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week accolades for the week ending Sunday, Dec. 9. Catherine Carr of Holy Family University was the choice for Rookie of the Week.
Lynch, a 5-10 junior forward from Wayne, NJ, averaged 21.5 points, 11.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 3.5 steals per-game in a 2-0 week for the Cougars. She recorded 23 points, 14 rebounds, three assists and three steals in a CACC victory over Goldey-Beacom. She also had 20 points, eight rebounds and four steals in just 20 minutes of action versus Concordia. She shot 50-percent (13-for-26) from the field and 17-for-20 (.850) from the free-throw line for the week.
Carr, a 6-0 freshman forward from Bernardsville, NJ, tallied 22 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one steal in a victory over Philadelphia. She shot 7-for-13 (.538) from the field, 3-for-5 (.600) from 3-point range and 5-for-6 (.833) from the charity stripe.

Erin Chesnavich, USP (So., F, 6-2, Pittston, PA) - Tallied 29 points and nine rebounds on 13-for-15 shooting in a victory over Post.
Jessica Romano, Philadelphia (So., C, 6-0, Horsham, PA) - Averaged 19.3 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals per-game in a 1-2 week.
Amelia Simmons, Wilmington (So., F, 5-11, Wilmington, DE) - Notched 23 points, 13 rebounds, three assists and three steals in a win over Felician.
Ashley Crenshaw, Bloomfield (Jr., G, 5-3, Orange, NJ) - Helped BC to a 3-0 week with averages of 14.0 ppg., 3.7 rpg., 2.0 apg., and 1.3 steals per-game.
CACC Notes
Caldwell - The Cougars won twice last week, defeating Concordia College in a non-conference game before picking up a CACC victory over Goldey-Beacom. The Cougars' 5-1 overall record marks the team's best start since the 1996-97 squad also started the year 5-1. Junior forward Mackenzie Lynch has scored at least 20 points in three straight games after tallying 20 against Concordia and 23 versus the Lightning. She also grabbed 14 rebounds in the Goldey-Beacom win for her second double-double of the season and the 13th of her 27-game career at Caldwell.
Felician - In Felician's seven games, sophomore forward Janelle Biamonte has made 15 three-point field goals and is shooting .600 from long range. The rest of the Golden Falcons are a combined 10 for 41 (.244).
Holy Family - Holy Family won its only game of the week against Philadelphia University, 71-48, on December 3. Forward Catherine Carr led the Tigers with 22 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one steal. Center Christine McCollum had 11 points, 11 rebounds and three assists. The Tigers dominated on the boards with a 58-38 advantage.
The win improves Holy Family's record to 6-0 and 2-0 in the CACC. Holy Family is ranked 19th in the USA Today/ESPN poll and is one of two undefeated team in the Northeast Region. Holy Family visits NYIT on Saturday, December 15.
Philadelphia - Senior forward Ashley Webster continues her climb in the Philadelphia University women's basketball record book, grabbing her 700th career rebound in the Lady Rams' win over Nyack College to move into a ninth-place tie all-time in school history with Karen Keane. Webster also moved into seventh-place all-time with 76 career blocked shots and ninth-place all-time with 190 career steals.
Post - Post dropped its lone game of the week to USP last Saturday afternoon 84-73. Stephanie Goss led the team with 18 points and seven rebounds. It was the fifth game in a row that Goss has scored at least 11 points and grabbed at least seven rebounds. Senior LaToya Coley chipped in 17 points, netting five three-pointers. Freshman Mallorie Michalak had 10 points and four assists.
USP - Marissa Chesnavich recorded a team-high and career-high nine assists at Post on Saturday. USP's 84 points are the most they have scored in a game since they scored 87 at Post on 12/10/05. Allison Weiss recorded her third double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
