NEW HAVEN, CT - Catherine Carr, a freshman at Holy Family University, has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, January 20. Caldwell freshman Kirsty Leedham garnered Rookie of the Week accolades.

Carr, a 6-0 freshman forward from Bernardsville, NJ, led Holy Family to a 3-0 week with averages of 22.0 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists while shooting 46.0-percent (23-50) from the field and 90-percent (18-20) from the free-throw line. She scored a CACC season-high and school-record 38 points in a win over Wilmington. She shot 13-for-26 from the field against the Wildcats and added eight rebounds and two assists. Later in the week, she tallied 23 points (9-for-13 from the field), three rebounds and three assists in a win over Caldwell. This is Carr's first CACC Player of the Week award after being named Rookie of the Week three times this season.

Leedham, a 5-9 freshman guard from Ellesmere, England, posted averages of 19.5 points, 1.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.5 steals in a 1-1 week. She poured in 23 points on 8-for-12 shooting, including 6-for-8 from behind the arc, in a win over Bloomfield. She followed with 16 points, two rebounds and three steals in a loss at Holy Family. This is the second Rookie of the Week award for Leedham this season.

Freshman guard Kirsty Leedham made 6-of-8 from three-point range en route to a career-high 23 points to lead Caldwell. The win also snapped an eight-game skid against Bloomfield for Caldwell, which hadn't beaten the rival Lady Deacons since Feb. 21, 2004.

Chestnut Hill - Chestnut Hill picked up its first-ever CACC victory with a 75-63 triumph at Post University on Saturday. Senior forward Tara Walsh led the way with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Freshman guard/forward Jessica Pruiti added 15 points and five rebounds.

Felician - Senior forward Dee Dee Smith is riding an eight-game double-figure scoring streak (not counting a game missed due to injury). She averaged 7.3 points and 4.7 rebounds in her first six games of the season, as compared to 15.9 points and 7.8 rebounds in the last eight.

Georgian Court - Freshman Lauren Staats went 4-for-6 from behind the 3-point line and tallied a team-high 18 points in a loss to Philadelphia on Thursday. Last Tuesday (1/8), Longdo collected 18 points off the bench in a win at Felician.

Holy Family - Holy Family improved to 15-0 and 7-0 in the CACC after a 3-0 week. Forward Catherine Carr scored a school-record 38 points in a 75-68 win over Wilmington. Center Christine McCollum recorded her sixth double-double of the year with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Holy Family ended the week with a 71-60 win against Caldwell. Carr and McCollum led the way with 23 and 19 points, respectively. Holy Family is one of four team still undefeated and is ranked 11th in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches Poll.
