NEW HAVEN, CT - Holy Family University sophomore Christine McCollum has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games between December 17th and January 1. Steph Agger of Philadelphia University was the pick for Rookie of the Week.

McCollum, a 6-1 sophomore center from Abington, PA, led Holy Family to a 3-0 record over the holidays with averages of 11.7 points, 7.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.67 blocks and 1.33 steals per-game. She shot 54.5-percent from the field. She notched 17 points, 10 rebounds and two assists at Grand Canyon University. She also had 14 points, seven rebounds, two assists and two blocks against Western New Mexico.

Agger, a 5-7 freshman guard from North Cape May, NJ, registered averages of 10.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 2.5 steals per-game in a 1-1 week. She posted 13 points, four assists, three rebounds and two steals versus Wilmington and added seven points, nine assists, eight rebounds and three steals in a win over Kutztown.

Honorable Mention

Mackenzie Lynch, Caldwell (Jr., F, 5-11, Wayne, NJ) - Tallied 18.3 points, 10.0 rebounds and 3.7 steals per-game in a 2-1 week.

Dana Rotio, Dominican (Sr., G, Garfield, NJ) - Averaged 9.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.2 steals per-game in five games.

Catherine Carr, Holy Family (Fr., F, 6-0, Bernardsville, NJ) - Averaged 10.3 points, 5.67 rebounds, 2.0 assists and .67 blocks in a 3-0 week.

CACC Notes

Caldwell - The Cougars extended their winning streak to six with wins over Queens and St. Anselm before falling at Bryant. Junior forward Mackenzie Lynch totaled 50 points, 24 rebounds and seven steals in the two victories, including a 29-point, 15-rebound effort in a 74-56 win at Queens on Dec. 21. Caldwell's 76-65 victory over St. Anselm at the Bryant Tournament on Dec. 28 was the program's second win against a team from the Northeast 10 Conference. The Cougars defeated St. Rose, 67-61 on Dec. 18, 2004. The team's two losses this year have come against Stonehill, ranked 18th in the latest ESPN/USA Today Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll, and Bryant, who received votes in the poll. In the most recent national statistical rankings released Dec. 16, the Cougars ranked 13th in steals, 25th in scoring offense and three-point field goal percentage, and 49th in scoring margin. Lynch was 28th in rebounding and 45th in scoring.

Dominican - Senior guard Dana Rotio netted her 1,000th career point in a non-conference win at USP on Dec. 21. She followed with a season-high five steals in a win over Pace on Dec. 28.

Felician - Junior Phylicia Daniels has recorded 24 rebounds in her last two games while starting at center for the injured Crystal Ferrer. In eight games as a reserve, Daniels was averaging 2.5 rebounds in 12.1 minutes. Daniels is a transfer from Hostos Community College.

Holy Family - Holy Family improved to a perfect 10-0 after picking up three wins in the last two weeks. The Tigers defeated the University of New Haven, 65-52. Then, Holy Family's defense dominated in Phoenix, AZ. Holy Family knocked off Grand Canyon University on December 29, 50-34. The 34 points were the fewest allowed by Holy Family this season. They matched that mark two days later with a 69-34 victory over Western New Mexico. The win was the largest since defeating Nyack by 36 points on December 9, 2006. The wins have moved the Tigers up to 11th in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches Poll. They have moved up in the rankings every week since they entered it on the first week of the regular season. Holy Family is led in scoring by freshman forward Catherine Carr (15.4 ppg). The top rebounder is sophomore center Christine McCollum (8.4 rpg). Holy Family resumes conference play on Saturday when it hosts Bloomfield at 1 p.m.

Philadelphia - Senior forward Ashley Webster needs just 66 points to become just the 23rd women's player in school history to reach the 1,000-point mark.
