CARR TABBED CACC WOMEN'S HOOPS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

NEW HAVEN, CT - Catherine Carr of Holy Family University has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Basketball Player and Rookie of the Week for the week ending Sunday, March 9. Carr was named the MVP of the CACC Tournament on Saturday afternoon.

Carr, a 6-0 freshman forward from Bernardsville, NJ, led Holy Family to its second straight CACC Tournament Championship by averaging 17.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per-game while shooting 47.5-percent from the field in the three games. She was named the Most Valuable Player of the Tournament. She tallied 11 points and seven rebounds in the championship game after notching 20 points in both the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds.

Honorable Mention

Althea Chambers, Dominican (Jr., G, 5-7, Yonkers, NY) - Posted 17 points and eight rebounds on 6-for-12 shooting in the CACC Championship game.

Amelia Simmons, Wilmington (So., F, 5-11, Wilmington, DE) - Scored 13 points, three rebounds and two steals in a semifinal loss to Dominican.

Shantae Barnes, Bloomfield (Sr., F, 5-11, Absecon, NJ) - Recorded 16 points and eight rebounds in a CACC semifinal loss to Holy Family.
