HOLY FAMILY, DOMINICAN AND WILMINGTON WOMEN RANKED IN REGION

February 20, 2008

NEW HAVEN, CT -- The Holy Family University women's basketball team remains in the top spot in the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Northeast Region poll, which was released on Wednesday, Feb. 20. Dominican College is seventh in the poll and Wilmington University stands 10th.

Holy Family, also ranked sixth in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches Poll, is 25-0 overall and 23-0 in regional contests. The Tigers have four wins against other teams in the poll this week; two over Wilmington, one at Dominican and one against Bentley College. Last week, Holy Family went 2-0 by defeating Goldey-Beacom College and Dominican.

Dominican remains in the poll for the fourth straight week. The Chargers are 18-7 overall this season and 12-3 in the CACC after a victory over Felician Tuesday evening. The Chargers lost a hard-fought game to Holy Family on Saturday, Feb. 16, by a count of 50-45.

Wilmington steps back into the poll for the second time this season after winning five consecutive games. The Wildcats are 18-8 overall this season and 12-5 in conference action.
