FOUR CACC WOMEN'S TEAMS RANKED IN NORTHEAST REGION BASKETBALL POLL

NEW HAVEN, CT - Four Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) women's basketball teams are included in the February 27 NCAA Division II Northeast Region Poll. Holy Family University remains in the top spot and is followed by No. 7 Dominican College, No. 9 Wilmington University and No. 10 Philadelphia University.

Holy Family is one of three undefeated teams in Division II women's basketball and sports a 26-0 overall record and a 17-0 mark in the CACC. The Tigers are led by two-time CACC Player of the Year, Kelly Killion, CACC Rookie of the Year Catherine Carr and CACC Coach of the Year, Mike McLaughlin. The CACC All-Conference team was released on Wednesday, as well. Holy Family is currently ranked fourth in the nation.

Dominican checks in with a 19-7 overall mark and a 13-3 CACC record and has won three of its last four games. The Chargers are led by senior guard Dana Rotio and sophomore forward Adele Laskowski, who were both named to the All-CACC second team. Junior Althea Chambers was an Honorable Mention pick. The Chargers are the top seed in the North Division for the upcoming CACC Tournament.

Wilmington is ninth in the poll and has won five straight games. The Wildcats are the second seed in the South Division for the CACC Tournament and are 19-8 overall this season and 12-5 in conference play. Sophomore forward Amelia Simmons was named to the All-CACC first team, while senior center Nordia Henry was a second team pick and senior guard Sherrelle Holmes was a third team selection.

Phildelphia is ranked in the poll for the first time this season after winning five consecutive games. The Lady Rams are 18-8 overall and 11-6 in conference play. The Lady Rams are the No. 3 seed in the South Division and will face Wilmington in the opening round of the CACC Tournament on Saturday, March 1. Sophomore Jessica Romano was named to the All-CACC first team, while senior forward Ashley Webster was a second team pick.
