HOLY FAMILY SET TO HOST WOMEN'S NORTHEAST REGIONAL AS TOP SEED

NEW HAVEN, CT-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Champion Holy Family University will serve as the top seed and host for this weekend's NCAA Division II Northeast Region Women's Basketball Tournament. The Tigers will host the eight-team tournament at its Campus Center. Holy Family is the first CACC team to host an NCAA regional.


All of the action at the regional will be available to view for free on www.CACC.tv in conjunction with Penn Atlantic. Through a partnership between the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, Northeast-10 Conference, and the East Coast Conference, CACC.tv will allow you to watch LIVE broadcasts of the Northeast Regional on your computer for free. The number of viewers is limited, so be sure to sign-up early by visiting the CACC.tv website.

The quarterfinals of the tournament are scheduled for Friday, March 14. The semifinals will take place on Saturday, March 15 and the championship game will be held on Monday, March 17. The winner will advance to the Elite Eight in Kearny, NE.

Holy Family received an automatic bid for the regional after winning the CACC Tournament Championship on Saturday, March 8. Stonehill College won the NE-10 Tournament Championship to earn an automatic bid, and will serve as the No. 2 seed. The ECC automatic qualifier is Molloy College. The Lions will be the No. 8 seed for the regional.

The five teams to garner at-large bids to the tournament are No. 3 Franklin Pierce University, No. 4 Bentley College, No. 5 Assumption College, No. 6 Dominican College and No. 7 Bryant University.

Quarterfinal games include #1 Holy Family vs. #8 Molloy, #2 Stonehill vs. #7 Bryant, #3 Franklin Pierce vs. #6 Dominican and #4 Bentley vs. #5 Assumption.
