LOBBATO OF GCU EARNS WOMEN'S HOOPS WEEKLY HONOR

NEW HAVEN, CT - Ashley Lobbato of Georgian Court University has earned Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors for the week ending Sunday, February 11th. Adele Laskowski of Dominican College has been selected as the Rookie of the Week.

Lobbato, a 5-7 sophomore guard from Monroe, NJ, averaged 18.0 points, 15.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals for the week. She netted the game-winning basket against Caldwell and registered 20 points, 19 rebounds and four steals against Nyack. For the week, she shot 50-percent (15-of-30) from the field.

Laskowski, a 5-9 freshman forward from Wayne, NJ, tallied 21.7 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.7 steals per-game in a 2-1 week for the Chargers. She notched 29 points against Nyack and added 20 points and three rebounds against Caldwell. She shot 56.8-percent (25-of-44) from the field for the week.

Honorable Mention

Megan Bauer, Holy Family - Averaged 15.6 points and 9.7 rebounds per-game and shot 55.2-percent (16-29) from the field for the week.

Meg Abele, Philadelphia - Averaged 24.3 points and 3.0 rebounds per-game while shooting 49-percent (24-49) from the field for the week.

CACC Notes

Felician - Felician's loss at Holy Family on Wednesday was its sixth game of the season against a team ranked in the current national WBCA Top 25.

Georgian Court - The Lions defeated Caldwell College in the final seconds of the game on Thursday. Ashley Lobbato scored the game-winning layup with 22 seconds left to push the Lions past the Cougars. GCU travels to Dominican College Monday night for their final meeting of the season. Dominican previously defeated Georgian Court 66-54, earlier this season.

Holy Family - Kelly Killion went over the 1,000-point plateau in the win over Felician. The Tigers are still ranked 14th in the latest USA Today/ESPN Coaches' Poll. Holy Family clinched the top spot in the upcoming CACC Tournament with the win over Caldwell on Saturday.

Philadelphia - Senior forward Meg Abele became just the 22nd women's player in school history ? and third this season ? to score 1,000 career points. Abele, who achieved the mark in a win at Nyack College on February 10th, joins fellow seniors Nicole Mechell and Alisha Ferguson as members of the exclusive club. Abele did so in less than two seasons with the Lady Rams after playing her first two seasons at NCAA Division I Iona College.

USP - USP has now won 11 of its last 13 games. Shelby Rance's start vs. Dominican was her 115th career start, the most ever by a women's player in school history. Rashanna Edwards scored her 800th career point vs. Dominican College, while Allison Weiss recorded her 500th career point in the same game. Rance also became just the third women's player in school history to record 150 three-point field goals with three vs. Bloomfield ? Rance has 151 for her career. Lori Sedina moved into a tie for seventh place on the Devils' all-time assist list with three vs. Dominican, giving her 282 for her career. In the latest NCAA statistics release, the Devils are ranked second nationally in free throw percentage (78.5%), 11th in blocked shots per game (4.7) and 29th in scoring defense (57.0pts./gm). Rance is ranked 14th nationally in free throw percentage (88.5)and 70th in scoring (16.5) while Sedina is ranked 35th nationally in blocked shots (1.7/gm). Edwards is ranked 42nd in assists (4.8).
