HOLMES EARNS WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK ACCOLADES

NEW HAVEN, CT - Sherrelle Holmes of Wilmington College has been selected as the Central Atlantic Conference (CACC)Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the weeek ending Sunday, Dec. 3. Adele Laskowski of Dominican College has been picked as the Rookie of the Week.

Holmes, a 5-6 senior guard from Philadelphia, PA, averaged 21.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 2.0 steals in a 2-0 week for the Wildcats. She shot 50.0% from the floor and made 16 of 19 free throws. She recorded 27 points in a league win over Georgian Court University.


Laskowski, a 5-9 freshman guard from Wayne, NJ, averaged 14.7 points and 3.3 steals in a 2-1 week for the Lady Chargers. She scored a career high 21 points in Tuesday's win at Felician. She shot 61.3 percent from the floor, made 6 of 6 free throws during the week.

Honorable Mention

Toni Jones, Goldey-Beacom - Averaged 15.0 points and 13.5 rebounds in a

2-0 week, including a 13-20 effort against Dominican.

Marisa Franklin, Bloomfield - Shot 9-10 from teh floor and 10-10 at the line in a 2-0 week. Averaged 14.0 points and 3.0 rebounds.

Allison Weiss, USP - Recorded three double-doubles in a 1-2 week. Shot 50% and averaged 12.7 points and 13.0 rebounds.

CACC Notes

Felician - Senior G Laurin Brown shot 10 for 21 (.476) from three-point range in three games last week after beginning the season 1 for 13.

Georgian Court - The young Lions, led by two juniors, are off to a rough start, dropping their first six contests. G Ashley Lobbato is averaging 12.2 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. The Lions seek their first win tonight against Columbia Union College.

Post - Post picked up its first win of the season with a 69-56 victory over Felician. on Nov. 30 at the Drubner Center. It was the Eagles' only win last week in three games. On Nov. 28, Post dropped an 88-82 decision to Nyack on the road. LaToya Coley led the Eagles with 29 points on 8-of-18 shooting and seven three-pointers in 22 minutes. In the win against Felician, the Eagles had three scorers in double digits, as Stephanie Goss had 19 points and pulled down nine rebounds, Marjorie Prado had 12 points and Telisha Moultrie added 10. On Dec. 2, Holy Family got off to a quick start and didn't look back, recording a 75-48 win over the visiting Eagles. Kenetta Kelly led Post with 19 points on 6-of-9 shooting. Post hits the road for a crucial CACC tilt at Philadelphia on Saturday afternoon.

Philadelphia - Freshman C Jessica Romano registered her first career double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds, plus a career-high five assists, in a Dec. 2 win at Felician.

USP - Shelby Rance surpassed the 1,500-point mark for her career. The senior guard now has 1,531. Lori Sedina moved into fourth place on the Devils' all-time blocks list with four during the week, giving her 71 for her career.
