NEW HAVEN, CT - Meg Abele of Philadelphia University has been named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, Nov. 26. Freshmen Casi Donelan of Goldey-Beacom College and Erin Chesnavich of USP were honored as Co-Rookies of the Week.

Abele, a 5-11 senior forward from Lititz, PA, poured in a game-high 33 points in a loss to East Stroudsburg on Tuesday. She shot 11-for-21 from the field, 3-for-5 from 3-point range and 8-for-8 from the free-throw line. She added three steals and one block.

Donelan, a 5-8 forward from Fairfax, VA, and Chesnavich, a 6-2 center from Pittston, PA, both notched double-doubles last week. Donelan registered 24 points and 11 rebounds in a win over Columbia Union. She shot 7-for-15 from the field and hit all nine of her free-throw attempts while dishing out three assists.

Chesnavich recorded 17 points and 15 rebounds in a win over West Chester. She shot 8-for-18 from the field and added two blocks and two steals.

Honorable Mention

Tadj Smith, Post - Scored 26 points and pulled down eight rebounds in a loss to Molloy.

Dee Dee Smith, Felician - Recorded 17 points, 10 rebounds, two steals and one block in a win over Concordia. Shot 8-for-14 from the floor.

CACC Notes

Caldwell - The Cougars traveled to Omaha, Nebraska, for the University of Nebraska-Omaha Thanksgiving Classic this past weekend. Caldwell lost to the host Mavericks and Minnesota State-Mankata from the North Central Conference. The Cougars begin their CACC schedule with Tuesday's home-opener against Bloomfield.

Felician - Felician's 20-point victory over Concordia on Tuesday was its closest game of the season. No Golden Falcon played more than 29 minutes in the game.

Georgian Court - Headlined by Melinda Hunold and Sophia Iloh, the young Lions are paced by only two juniors who see significant time. Hunold has averaged 12.3 ppg and 7.6 rpg and has been joined in the starting lineup by fellow freshman Gina Nazzaro, who is averaging 1.6 blocks per game. Georgian Court hosts its first home contest on Thursday night at 7 p.m. against Wilmington College. This is the first meeting for the teams this season.

Post - In their only game last week, the Eagles dropped a tough 81-78 decision to Molloy College on the road. The Eagles had three scorers in double figures, led by Tadj Williams, who had 26 points and eight rebounds. Telisha Moultrie had 20 points and 10 rebounds, and Stephanie Goss had 12 points and 11 rebounds. Post connected on 32-of-46 free throw attempts, out-rebounded the Lions, 52-44, and had an 18-14 margin on the offensive glass. Post travels to Nyack College on Tuesday, hosts Felician on Thursday, and heads to Holy Family on Saturday.

USP - The Devils defeated West Chester for the second consecutive year to improve to 3-9 all-time versus the Golden Rams.
