GBC'S GRAHAM EARNS WOMEN'S BASKETBALL WEEKLY HONORS

NEW HAVEN, CT - Cherrise Graham of Goldey-Beacom College has earned Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors for the week ending Sunday, January 7. Erin Chesnavich of the University of Sciences and Sophia Iloh of Georgian Court University were named co-Rookies of the Week.

Graham, a senior guard from Philadelphia, PA, averaged 29.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists per-game last week for the Lightning. She poured in 39 points (15-of-19 shooting from the field) and added nine rebounds and six assists in a victory over Nyack. She also registered 20 points, 10 rebounds and four assists at Philadelphia.

Chesnavich, a 6-2 freshman center from Pittston, PA, averaged 15.5 points and 10.0 rebounds per-game for the week. She shot 50-percent (14-of-28) from the field and added 1.5 blocks and 1.0 steals per-game. Chesnavich recorded 19 points, nine rebounds, two blocks and two steals against East Stroudsburg.

Iloh, a 6-1 freshman forward from Union, NJ, registered 14.0 ppg and 10.5 rpg in two games last week for the Lions. She shot 54.5-percent (12-of-22) from the field and also blocked 2.0 shots per-game. She notched 20 points, 14 rebounds and three blocks against Caldwell.

Honorable Mention

Mackenzie Lynch, Caldwell - Averaged 18.5 points and 13.0 rebounds in two games for the Cougars.

CACC Notes

Caldwell - Two late baskets by junior forward Melissa Freeman lifted the Cougars to a 66-62 win over Adelphi University on Jan. 6 in the first meeting between the two programs. Freeman was 5-for-5 from the field and finished with 10 points. The win came against the alma mater of Caldwell's first-year head coach Linda Cimino, who played at Adelphi from 1997 to 2000 and served as an assistant coach there last season. Sophomore forward Mackenzie Lynch recorded two double-doubles last week, giving her four straight and seven for the season.

Georgian Court - The Lions are looking to snap a 3-game losing streak as they travel to Columbia Union College in Washington, D.C. Tuesday evening. The Lions are led this season by junior Stephanie Longdo, who is averaging 10.5 points per game and Freshman Sophia Iloh, who is averaging 10.1 points per game. Iloh is second on the team in rebounds with 6.5 per game.

Philadelphia - Senior center Alisha Ferguson leads NCAA Division II in rebounding with 15.0 boards per contest while fellow senior Meg Abele ranks fourth in the nation in scoring with 23.6 ppg.

Post - Post dropped its first game of the 2007 calendar year last Saturday at USP. The Eagles were led by senior Stephanie Goss who had 15 points and four rebounds. Senior Marjorie Prado notched double figures for the fifth time in a row with 13 points. She also grabbed five rebounds and recorded three steals. Post returns home for the first time since November 30 on Tuesday against Goldey-Beacom. The Eagles then head to Wilmington College on Thursday, before hosting Georgian Court on Saturday afternoon.

USP - Shelby Rance made five field goals versus Post to move into second place on the Devils all-time FG made list with 578 for her career. Lori Sedina moved into third place on the Devils all-time blocked shot list with her block against Post and now has 83 for her career.
