JEN CARLETON NAMED ASSISTANT WOMEN'S BASKETBALL COACH FOR HOLY FAMILY

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Holy Family women's basketball coach Mike McLaughlin has announced the hiring of Jen Carleton as assistant basketball coach. She will join assistant coaches Mike Moran and Bernadette Laukatitis on the staff.

"Her energy and commitment is what attracted us to her," McLaughlin said. "She understands the league, since she played and coached here in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference. Her energy and love for the game will fit in with our program."

Carleton played at fellow Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference school Caldwell College from 1999 to 2003, then remained with the Cougars from 2003 to 2005 as an assistant coach. She is a native of Jackson, N.J.

"Jen has a passion for the game that will add greatly to our program," Moran said. "She clearly understands the amount of effort and commitment that it takes from every player and coach to have a successful program."

Carleton joins a team that finished 29-3 last season and advanced to the semifinals of the Northeast Regional of the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Tournament. The Tigers also finished the regular season 24-0 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference.

Holy Family opens the season with an exhibition against the University at Buffalo on Saturday, November 4, before opening the regular season with NYIT on Sunday, November 19 at 2 p.m.
