HOLY FAMILY UNIVERSITY WOMEN RANKED 16TH IN LATEST USA TODAY/ESPN TOP 25 POLL

January 24, 2007

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - The Holy Family Women's Basketball team is currently ranked 16th in the latest USA Today/ESPN Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll, which was released Tuesday evening by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA).

The Tigers, who are 15-1 overall and a perfect 12-0 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC), climbed four spots from their previous ranking of 20th last week. Holy Family is the second highest ranked team from the Northeast Region, as Southern Connecticut State University is ranked fourth.

Holy Family is the lone CACC team ranked in the top 25, and is riding a nine-game winning streak along with a 38-game regular-season conference winning streak heading into Wednesday evening's game with cross-town rival Philadelphia University.

The Tigers are led by point guard Kelly Killion (Jr./Pennsauken, NJ/Camden Catholic) who averages 12.8 points per game and is ranked among the leaders in Division II in three-point field goal percentage (42.1) and three-point field goals per game (2.5).

As a team, the Tigers lead Division II in field-goal percentage defense, allowing teams to shoot just 30.4 percent from the field. The Tigers are also third in scoring margin, with an average win coming by 22.5 points. Tigers' opponents are averaging just 50.1 points per game, which ranks sixth-best in Division II.

Starting center Megan Bauer (Sr./Norwood, PA/Ridley) recently scored her 1,000th career point as a Tiger, and also ranks among the leaders in Division II in rebounds per game (9.1) and blocked shots per game (1.9).
