BRONXVILLE, NY - On Wednesday, November 11th, the first day of the early signing period, the Concordia College softball team's top recruit for the 2010-2011 season, Rachel Cannata (Waldwick, NJ), signed a National Letter of Intent (NLI).

Rachel, a senior at Paramus Catholic High School in New Jersey, signed a NLI Wednesday with her parents present at her high school.  She competed with the 18 & Under Jersey Sparks and will play this summer for the 18 & Under Jersey Shock.  Rachel, a right handed pitcher who also plays the outfield and first base, bats left handed. She will be majoring in Business when she starts classes in the fall of 2010.

"I feel Rachel will add to the returning group and give us more depth on the mound.  Rachel will be a huge asset offensively and defensively.  I am looking forward to seeing her in a Clipper uniform," states Concordia Head Softball Coach, Kathy Laoutaris.
