ELEVEN CACC SOFTBALL PLAYERS GARNER NFCA ALL-REGION STATUS

NEW HAVEN, CT (May 15, 2009) - Eleven student-athletes from Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) institutions have garnered National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-East Region status in an announcement made Thursday. Head coaches from the East Region conducted the voting for the team. The East Region includes the CACC, Northeast-10 Conference and the East Coast Conference.  

First team selections include three players from Georgian Court in sophomore pitcher Diana Sansevera, senior outfielder Mallory Kirchner and freshman utility player, Rachel Ruch. Sansevera was recently named the CACC and Daktronics East Region Pitcher of the Year. Other first team picks from the CACC include Caldwell College senior 2B Gina Capardi and Dominican College senior outfielder Sarah Beck. Capardi and Beck were both first team picks last season and Beck was selected the 2009 CACC Player of the Year.

Second team picks from the CACC include three Caldwell Cougars; sophomore pitcher Brittany Pulido, freshman outfielder Kelly Ryan and sophomore 1B Kyrie Timbrook. Other second team selections were Georgian Court sophomore 3B Courtney Cuevas and freshman designated player Brooke Hull and Dominican sophomore catcher Nicole Scarillo.
