CACC SOFTBALL PLAYERS EARN POST-SEASON AWARDS FROM DAKTRONICS AND NFCA

NEW HAVEN, CT (May 21, 2009) - Numerous softball players from Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) institutions have earned postseason honors in recent days from Daktronics and the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. Both announced their All-Region and All-America squads.  

Georgian Court University's Mallory Kirchner and Rachel Ruch were named to the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II All-America first team. Fellow Lions Diana Sansevera was a second team pick. The NFCA also released its All-Region teams and 11 CACC student-athletes were named. First team picks include Sansevera, Kirchner and Ruch, Caldwell College's Gina Capardi and Dominican College's Sarah Beck. Second team picks were Brittany Pulido, Kyrie Timbrook and Kely Ryan of Caldwell, Nicole Scarillo of Dominican and Courtney Cuevas and Brooke Hull of Georgian Court.

Sarah Beck of Dominican has been named to the 2009 Daktronics All-American Softball Second Team. She was the only player from the CACC to be named to the first, second or third teams. Georgian Court had three Honorable Mention picks in Sansevera, Kirchner and Cuevas.

Daktronics first team All-East Region honorees featured Sansevera, Cuevas and Kirchner of GCU and Dominican's Scarillo and Beck. Second team picks included Caldwell's Capardi, Timbrook and Danielle Genovese, Ruch of GCU, Lindsay Watson and Amanda Cordrey of Wilmington University and Angela DiBeneditto of Holy Family University.
