BLAUVELT, NY - Dominican College Head Softball Coach, Rick Krasny, has resigned as the Lady Chargers softball coach effective immediately, announced Athletic Director, Joe Clinton.

"As a result of a promotion at Garden State Brickface, it is with great trepidation and disappointment that I must resign as the Lady Charger softball coach," Krasny said.

Krasny has been at the helm of the Lady Chargers for the past six seasons. He has a combined record of 124-131-2 from 2002-2007. He led the team to two Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament appearances and one CACC Tournament Championship appearance. In 2003, he guided the Lady Chargers to their first regular season winning record since 1998. He was named the CACC Coach of the Year in that season.

"The Athletic Department is sad to see Rick leave," said Clinton. "The softball team has shown great improvement for the past six years under him. I wish him luck in his new position at Garden State Brickface."

Assistant Coach, Joe Burbridge, who spent last season as the Head Coach of Adelphi University has been named interim Head Coach for the 2008 season. He had a record of 39-19 last year at AU, setting a school record for most wins and winning the East Coast Conference (ECC) Regular Season Title. The Panthers earned a berth in the NCAA Tournament and was ranked as high as 8th in the country.
