CACC Notes

Bloomfield - Sophomore righty Brianne Moore pitched her fifth shutout of the season in blanking Concordia 5-0 in a non-conference match-up on Thursday. Sophomore utility player Brittany DeVries ranks first nationally in Division II in sacrifice bunts per game, averaging 0.58. Her total of 15 sacrifice bunts leads the CACC and has established a new Bloomfield College record.

Caldwell - The Cougars swept a CACC doubleheader with USP and split non-conference doubleheaders with NYIT and New Haven last week. Games against Dominican and Queens scheduled for last week were postponed due to rain. This week the Cougars face two of the Northeast Region's top teams in Adelphi (Apr. 8) and C.W. Post (Apr. 12), both on the road. Senior outfielder Carrie Flasphaler is hitting .464 over the last 13 games.

Felician - Felician played a stretch from March 18-31 in which 8 out of 10 games were decided by one run. The Golden Falcons were 2-6 in those games, including 2-3 in CACC one-run contests. Freshman IF Lauren DeGrushe hit four home runs in a three-game span last Monday and Thursday, including three solo shots in Thursday's home split with Molloy.

Georgian Court - The Lions are currently ranked 16th in the NFCA top-25 poll. Shortstop Danielle Brossoie launched a grand slam in Georgian Court's 9-2 victory over Dowling.

Post - Post went 2-4 last week. The Eagles beat Nyack for the third and fourth time this season, this time in league-games. The two schools met in Florida during spring break. Against Nyack senior Allison Williams, who went 4-for-12 during the week with three doubles and three runs batted in, went 2-for-3 with two RBI in the first game of the twinbill. Senior Michelle Stotz went 1-for-2 with two runs scored and sophomore Emily Archer went 1-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a run scored. In the nightcap, freshman Tierney Marceau smacked a one-out double, and went to third on a single from senior Caitlin McAveney to put runners on the corners for Williams, who brought the winning run home via a fielder's choice. Marceau finished the week 4-for-12 (.333) with a pair of doubles, an RBI and a run scored. The Eagles have three CACC twinbills on tap for the upcoming week. First the team will travel to Felician for a doubleheader on Tuesday, then on Friday the team return to LaMoy Field to face Wilmington. The week wraps up on Saturday with a twinbill at Goldey-Beacom.

Curtis has also moved into ninth-place all-time with 18 career doubles and is tied for sixth with 57 career RBI. With her home run against Bloomfield College on April 6th, Curtis became just the second player in school history with double-digit career home runs and ranks second all-time with ten for her career, trailing just Lindsay Field who finished her career with 13 home runs.

USP - First baseman Carolynn Snavely became just the sixth USP player to record 100 hits in a career, reaching the milestone with a single in the Devils first game against Goldey Beacom.
