NEW HAVEN, CT - Jacque Curtis of Philadelphia University has claimed Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Softball Player of the Week honors for the week ending Sunday, April 20. Fauna Ryerson of Bloomfield College was selected Pitcher of the Week and Angela DiBeneditto of Holy Family University picked up Rookie of the Week accolades.
Jacque Curtis hit .692 with three home runs and 16 RBI  last week

Curtis, a senior catcher from Punxsutawnee, PA, hit .692 (18-26) in eight games with a 1.192 slugging percentage and a .714 on-base percentage last week. She drove in 16 runs, scored 12 times and smacked three home runs, two doubles and one triple. She recorded one 4-hit game and three, 3-hit games.

Ryerson, a junior right-hander from West Milford, NJ, helped Bloomfield to a 6-0 record last week by going 4-0 with a 0.82 ERA. She allowed only four runs and 16 hits in 17.0 innings of work.

DiBeneditto, a freshman righty from Forest Hill, MD, went 3-0 for the week with a 0.00 ERA. She allowed 15 hits in 21.0 innings of work and fanned 23 batters with only six walks. She struck out 10 batters in a complete game victory over Nyack.

Honorable Mention

Gina Capardi, Caldwell (Jr., 2B, West Caldwell, NJ) - Hit .500 for the week with 13 RBI, 10 runs scored and four home runs.

Vickie Berardi, Bloomfield (Jr., SS, Linden, NJ) - Hit .474 in six games with four homers, seven RBI and seven runs.

Nicole Hays, Wilmington (Sr., SS, Bel Air, MD) - Hit .444 in six games with two home runs, seven RBI and six runs scored.

Julie Sito, Georgian Court (Sr., LF, Elyria, OH) - Hit .538 with two home runs, six runs, two RBI and two doubles in a 5-1 week.

CACC Notes

Bloomfield - Bloomfield completed it's first undefeated week, going 6-0, all in CACC matchups. Junior righty Fauna Ryerson went 4-0 on the week, allowing just 4 earned runs in 4 games. She pitched her first shutout of the season against Nyack. Amanda Bartels had her first career multi-homer game against Nyack. Vickie Berardi hit three home runs in a doubleheader against Nyack, while Mallorie Mathews added one, as the Deacons connected for 6 homers in two games. BC notched wins in three games in which they were trailing going into the 7th inning this week. Against Felician, Mathews hit an RBI double as the Deacons rallied for 4 runs and a 5-4 win. In game 1 against USP, Mathews scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch to give the Deacons a come from behind 7-6 win. In game 2, Mathews hit a 2-run single to give the Deacons a 4-2 lead on their way to a 6-2 win after trailing 2-0 going into the 7th.

Caldwell - Junior Gina Capardi went 15-for-30 with four home runs, 13 RBIs and 10 runs scored last week to extend her hitting streak to 12 games.

Felician - Nine out of Felician's 10 homeruns this season have been hit by freshmen. The Golden Falcons went 0-4 last week despite collecting 34 hits in the four games.

Georgian Court - The Lions rallied back from a 7-0 deficit by plating 8 unanswered runs (2 in the 6th and 6 in the 7th) to defeat visiting Wilmington University, 8-7. GCU won Game Two, 5-4, for the double-header sweep.

Holy Family - Holy Family is above .500 for the first time this season (16-14) after a 4-2 week. The Tigers split with conference opponent Wilmington (L, 1-3/W, 2-1) and Molloy (L, 3-6/W, 5-1) and swept Nyack (W, 6-1/W, 8-3). Shortstop Kristilyn Obert led the offense with a .545 batting average. Catcher/first baseman Dana Pallotta hit .389 and drove in six runs, while center fielder Lauren Armstrong had a .350 average and five RBIs. Obert and Pallotta are each on 11-game hitting streaks. Armstrong has at least one hit in 18 of her last 20 games. Pitcher Angela DiBeneditto went 3-0 with an ERA of 0.00. This week, Holy Family closes out the season with USP on Tuesday, Georgian Court on Thursday, Bloomfield on Friday, Caldwell on Saturday and Queens (N.Y.) on Sunday.

Philadelphia - Senior Jaqcue Curtis hit .692 with 12 runs, 18 hits and 16 RBI in leading the Lady Rams to a 4-4 week. She also registered two doubles, a triple and three homeruns. She had an amazing 1.192 slugging percentage for the week to go along with a .714 on-base percentage. With her three homeruns, Curtis broke the school's all-time homerun record with 14 and also tied the school's all-time record for RBI with 77. She had at least one hit in seven of the eight games last week, including three with three and one with four

USP - Carolynn Snavely moved into a tie for fifth place on the Devils' all-time RBI list with 60 for her career. Rachel Morgan set a single season record for strikeouts on Saturday against Bloomfield, recording nine to give her 96 strikeouts for the season. Morgan currently ranks 57th nationally in strikouts/7 innings (6.6), 79th nationally in earned run average (1.90) and 27th nationally in walks allowed/7 innings (1.07). Dayna Phillips is the 95th toughest batter to strikeout, fanning just once in every 18 at-bats.
