GEORGIAN COURT'S PIEPSZAK NAMED TO NORTHEAST REGION ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM

BRONXVILLE, NY - Georgian Court University Sophomore Vanessa Piepszak has been selected to the Northeast Region All-Tournament Team after an outstanding performance in the Lions' first-ever NCAA Division II Regional Tournament appearance.

Piepsak singled in the top of the seventh inning driving in the eventual game-winning run against #4 Adelphi University to advance #5 Georgian Court to the second round of the tournament.

In games two and three, Piepszak ripped three hits for the Lions including a triple against #3 Dowling College. Piepszak had a team high .636 slugging percentage and reached base 6 out of 12 plate appearances during the tournament.

Piepszak led the Lions in batting all season long. She finished the season batting .427 and tied with teammate Mallory Kirchner with 61 hits. Piepszak finished the season ranked second behind teammate Heather Walker having scored 37 runs.

Georgian Court completed the season with a 29-24 overall record and a 17-5 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) record. The Lions captured both the CACC regular season and conference tournament titles.
