March 13 Player of the Week: Anna Lightly, Georgian Court: Hit .400 (12-for-30) in a 7-1 week for the Lions. She scored six runs, drove in seven and collected two doubles. She also pitched in two games and picked up a victory. Pitcher of the Week: Stephanie Cuevas, Georgian Court: Compiled a 3-0 record last week and allowed only 11 hits and three earned runs in 24 innings of work. Threw a 7-inning, 1-hitter against Columbia Union and fanned three without giving up a walk. Co-Rookies of the Week: Jenna Krowl, Felician and Vanessa Piepczak, Georgian Court: Krowl hit .434 for the week with a triple and five RBI. Piepszak hit .429 with a home run and three RBI, along with a .484 on-base percentage. March 20 Player of the Week: Nicole Hays, Wilmington: Hit .417 in eight games last week with five runs scores, six RBI, two doubles and four stolen bases. Went 3-for-4 with a double and four RBI against North Dakota. Pitcher and Rookie of the Week: Fauna Ryerson, Bloomfield: Went 1-3 last week, but sported a 1.36 ERA and allowed only 18 hits in 25.2 innings. Pitched a complete-game against West Chester and allowed no runs, two hits and fanned five in 7.0 innings of work. She allowed one run in 6.0 innings against Minnesota-Moorhead. March 27 Player of the Week: Sarah Beck, Dominican: Hit .455 (10-22) for the week with two home runs, five doubles, nine RBI and 10 runs scored. Went 3-for-3 with four RBI and two doubles against Molloy and hit two home runs in a double-header versus Queens. Pitcher of the Week: Michelle Krupna, Dominican: Went 3-0 last week with a 1.11 ERA. In 19 innings of work, allowed eight hits, three earned runs and struck out 27, including 15 in a complete game victory over Bloomfield. She fanned nine batters against Queens. Rookie of the Week: Ashley Frange, Bloomfield: Belted four home runs, drove in six runs, scored six times and recorded a 1.111 slugging percentage and a .389 batting average for the week. Smacked two home runs and went 3-for-4 with four RBI in a 5-0 win over Dominican. April 3 Player of the Week: Jen Escheman, Holy Family: Hit .478 (11-for-23) in a 5-3 week. The catcher collected six doubles, drove in 11 runs and scored twice during the week, while earning a .538 on-base percentage and a .739 slugging percentage. Went 4-for-4 with five RBI and two doubles in an 8-2 win over Molloy. Pitcher of the Week: Jessica Saunders, Caldwell: Went 3-1 last week with a 1.21 ERA. She fanned 39 batters in 29.0 innings, while allowing only 19 hits and five earned runs. Hurled a complete-game, two-hit shutout against Post and fanned a season-high 13 batters in a 5-2 win over regionally-ranked New Haven. Rookie of the Week: Samantha Sasko, Georgian Court: Collected three wins last week and allowed only one earned run and 11 hits in 21 innings of work. Struck out 19 batters, walked one, and recorded a 0.33 ERA. April 10 Player of the Week: Lauren Armstrong, Holy Family: Hit .421 (8-for-19) for the week with eight RBI, six runs scored, two doubles, one triple and one home run. Combined to go 5-for-8 with four RBI, four runs scored, one triple and a home run in a sweep of USP on Sunday. Pitcher of the Week: Michelle Bark, Dominican: Went all 8.0 innings in a 2-1, extra-inning victory over Felician on Tuesday. Allowed five hits, no earned runs and fanned seven. Rookie of the Week: Samantha Sasko, Georgian Court: Went 1-0 last week and allowed one hit and no runs in 7.0 total innings of work over two appearances. Against Nyack, she got the win after allowing only one hit in 5.0 innings while fanning six. In the second game of the double-header against the Warriors, Sasko struck out five batters in 2.0 innings without allowing a hit. April 17 Player of the Week: Anna Dahl, Caldwell: Hit .632 (12-for-19) in a 7-1 week and earned a 1.053 slugging percentage and a .652 on-base percentage. Hit two home runs, drove in five runs and crossed the plate five times. Enjoyed four multiple-hit games and went 2-for-2 with a home run, two runs and two RBI in the second game of a double-header against Philadelphia. Co-Pitchers of the Week: Anna Dahl, Caldwell and Crista Holtom, Post: Dahl went 3-0 for the week with a 0.37 ERA. Allowed just seven hits over 19.0 innings of work with 16 strikeouts. She went 7.0 innings and allowed only three hits, no earned runs and fanned six against Wilmington. Holtom also went 3-0 with a 1.00 ERA. She had 23 strikeouts in 21 innings of work and walked just one batter. Shutout the region's third-ranked team, Dominican, and followed with another CACC shutout over Philadelphia. Rookie of the Week: Sarah Beck, Dominican: Hit .444 (8-of-18) with two home runs, six RBI and five runs scored for the week. Went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored to go with a home run against Post and also left the park against St. Thomas Aquinas. April 24 Player of the Week: Christine Stathes, Dominican: Hit three home runs, drove in 10 runs and hit .471 (8-for-17) for the week. Scored five runs during the week and had a 1.000 slugging percentage. Went 3-for-3 with four RBI, two home runs and two runs scored against Pace. Co-Pitchers of the Week: Michelle Bark, Dominican and Anna Leighty, Georgian Court: Bark went 2-0 with a 0.58 ERA last week. Struck out a total of 19 batters, including 11 against Pace, and walked one in 12 total innings of work. Allowed only four hits against the Setters in seven innings. Leighty went 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA for the week. In 11 total innings, she allowed eight hits, no runs and fanned seven. In a 7-inning shutout of Holy Family, she allowed five hits and had five strikeouts. Rookie of the Week: Fauna Ryerson, Bloomfield: Did not allow an earned run in two starts while compiling a 1-1 record. Gave up only six hits in 14 innings of work and fanned nine. She suffered a 1-0 loss to Wilmington despite not allowing an earned run and surrendering only three hits. Got a win against St. Thomas Aquinas after hurling a 3-hitter with four strikeouts over six innings of work. May 1 Player of the Week: Christine Stathes, Dominican: Hit .500 (12-for-24) for the week with two home runs, nine RBI, four doubles and five runs scored. Went 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBI against Holy Family and also hit a home run versus Wilmington in a 2-for-3, three-RBI effort. Pitcher of the Week: Jessica Saunders, Caldwell: Went 4-1 last week and fanned a total of 53 batters in six appearances. Struck out double-digit batters in four of those outings, including 12 in a shutout of Georgian Court. Hurled 40.1 innings for the week and allowed 34 hits and six runs (1.04 ERA). Co-Rookies of the Week: Fauna Ryerson, Bloomfield and Sarah Beck, Dominican: Ryerson went 3-1 for the week and recorded a 1.62 ERA. Hurled shutouts against both Georgian Court and Felician and surrendered only 23 hits in 30.1 innings of work, along with 18 strikeouts. In a double-header against Georgian Court, she combined to throw 13.0 innings and did not allow an earned run. Beck hit .520 (13-for-25) for the week, hit two home runs, drove in 10 runs and scored six times. Collected three hits in back-to-back games against USP and Holy Family and hit home runs against nationally-ranked C.W. Post and Holy Family. May 8 Player of the Week: Amy Coker, Caldwell: Coker, a senior 2B, was named MVP of the CACC Tournament after driving in the game-winning runs in the championship game Saturday afternoon. She went 1-for-3 in the final game with two RBI and a double. She also finished 1-for-3 with a run and a stolen base against Dominican. Co-Pitchers of the Week: Jessica Saunders and Anna Dahl, Caldwell: Saunders, a senior, and Dahl, a junior, share Pitcher of the Week honors. Both were instrumental in Caldwell's CACC Championship run. Dahl went 2-0 for the tournament and allowed only one run in 12.2 total innings of work. In the championship game, she went 6.0 innings and allowed six hits and one run, while fanning five, against Dominican. Saunders went 1-0 with a save during the tournament and fanned 26 batters in 15.1 innings of work, while allowing only three runs. She struck out 16 batters in her start against Bloomfield and notched a save in the championship game. Rookie of the Week: Sarah Beck, Dominican: Hit .571 (8-of-14) at the CACC Tournament in four games. She hit a grand slam versus Felician and went 3-for-4 with two RBI and two doubles against Georgian Court. May 15 Player of the Week: Vanessa Piepszak, Georgian Court: Hit .400 at the ECAC Tournament with two runs scored and one RBI. Also recorded one double. Played twice against the University of Bridgeport during the week and collected two hits in each game. Pitcher and Rookie of the Week: Samantha Sasko, Georgian Court: Hurled a total of 18.0 innings at the ECAC Tournament and went 1-2 with one save. She allowed only two earned runs in four appearances, surrendered only 13 hits and fanned 25 batters. Pitched a complete game shutout against Felician with 13 strikeouts. |
