CALDWELL SOFTBALL MOVES UP TO 13TH IN NFCA POLL

NEW HAVEN, CT - The Caldwell College softball team moved up 11 spots to 13th in the latest National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division II Top 25 Poll, released Wednesday. The ranking is the highest national ranking of the 2006 season for the Cougars, who have been ranked as high as 16th this year. The team was No. 24 in the previous poll.

Caldwell, coached by Dean Johnson, are 24-12 on the season and have won eight of the past nine games. Currently, the Cougars sit atop the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference standings with a 13-3 record.

The Cougars will have an opportunity to face the top-ranked team in the regional rankings on Thursday, April 20, when they travel to Greenvale, N.Y., to play C.W. Post in a non-conference doubleheader. The first pitch is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
