NEW HAVEN, CT – Caldwell College has earned the top seed for the upcoming 2006 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Softball Tournament, which will be hosted by the Cougars from Thursday, May 4 to Saturday, May 6. The Cougars will be vying for their third consecutive CACC Tournament crown. The Cougars won last year's tournament by defeating Georgian Court twice on the final day of competition by scores of 5-3 and 3-1.

Dominican and Georgian Court both finished with 15-7 conference records, but the Chargers will serve as the #2 seed by virtue of a tie-breaker. The Chargers are 35-15 overall. The Lions are the third seed and compiled a 25-11 record overall.

Goldey-Beacom is the fourth seed and went 14-8 in conference play and 17-18 overall.

Bloomfield (15-28, 12-10) has secured the #5 seed after winning a tie-breaker with Felician. The Golden Falcons will be the sixth seed after also going 12-10 in league play to go with a 22-21 overall slate.
