ARMSTRONG, BARK AND SASKO EARN CACC SOFTBALL WEEKLY HONORS

NEW HAVEN, CT - Lauren Armstrong of Holy Family has been named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, April 9. Michelle Bark of Dominican has been selected as the Pitcher of the Week and Samantha Sasko of Georgian Court has earned Rookie of the Week accolades.

Armstrong, a sophomore from Williamstown, NJ, hit .421 (8-for-19) for the week with eight RBI, six runs scored, two doubles, one triple and one home run. She combined to go 5-for-8 with four RBI, four runs scored, one triple and a home run in a sweep of USP on Sunday.

Bark, a junior righty from West Milford, NJ, went all 8.0 innings in a 2-1, extra-inning victory over Felician on Tuesday. She allowed five hits, no earned runs and fanned seven in her only action of the week.

Sasko earns Rookie of the Week honors for the second time this season. The freshman from Yardville, NJ, went 1-0 last week and allowed one hit and no runs in 7.0 total innings of work over two appearances. Against Nyack, she got the win after allowing only one hit in 5.0 innings. She also fanned six. In the second game of the double-header against the Warriors, Sasko struck out five batters in 2.0 innings without allowing a hit.
