PIEPSZAK AND SASKO EARN CACC SOFTBALL WEEKLY ACCOLADES

NEW HAVEN, CT - Vanessa Piepszak of Georgian Court University has been selected as the Softball Player of the Week in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC). Samantha Sasko of GCU is the Pitcher and the Rookie of the Week for the week ending Sunday, May 14.

Piepszak, a freshman outfielder, hit .400 at the ECAC Tournament with two runs scored and one RBI. The Ewing, NJ native also recorded one double. She played twice against the University of Bridgeport during the week and collected two hits in each game.

Sasko, a freshman pitcher from Yardville, NJ, hurled a total of 18.0 innings at the ECAC Tournament and went 1-2 with one save. She allowed only two earned runs in four appearances, surrendered only 13 hits and fanned 25 batters. She pitched a complete game shutout against Felician with 13 strikeouts.
