WATERBURY - The Post University athletic department has announced that women's basketball Head Coach Todd McEvoy has been named softball head coach. McEvoy will serve in a dual role, for Post, following the resignation of Dawn Spellman earlier this summer.

"I would like to thank former Director of Athletics Dan Mara, and the Post University administration for giving me this opportunity," McEvoy said. "I look forward to continuing the success this program had under Dawn Spellman, and to work towards keeping this program in the upper echelon of the CACC."

McEvoy, who enters his fourth year at Post, has served the university in various capacities, assuming the roles of women's basketball head coach, men's basketball assistant coach, assistant softball coach, head coach of the men's basketball sub-varsity team, assistant sports information director, head women's cross country coach, sports information director, and assistant compliance coordinator.

In 2006, Post finished 20-28 overall and 11-11 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC). Sophomore Allison Williams (Montgomery, N.Y./Valley Central) led the Eagles at the plate, hitting .271 with four homeruns and 19 runs batted in. Senior Erin McKenna (Beverly, Mass./Beverly) was second on the team with a .255 batting average with one homerun and 15 RBI.

Prior to coming to Post, McEvoy was the head softball coach at Meredith College in Raleigh, N.C. He is a graduate of SUNY Brockport, and currently resides in Waterbury, Conn.
