Concordia Sweeps Men's Tennis Weekly Honors
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (April 11, 2012) - Concordia sophomore David Tisserand (Lyon, France) has been recognized as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the period ending April 9. Concordia teammate Jason Quintana (Holtsville, N.Y.) was selected as the CACC Men's Tennis Rookie of the Week.
CACC Men's Tennis Player of the Week
David Tisserand, Concordia (So., Lyon, France)
Was a perfect 2-0 in singles play last week as he posted a 6-0, 6-0 win while playing in No. 2 singles position vs. Caldwell before following with another singles (6-2, 6-1) victory as well as a doubles win (8-0) against Philadelphia. Boasts an undefeated CACC record for the season (5-0 singles, 4-0 doubles).
CACC Men's Tennis Rookie of the Week
Jason Quintana, Concordia (Fr., Holtsville, N.Y.)
Enjoyed a 3-0 week that saw him claim three wins in team victories against Caldwell and Philadelphia. Won 8-0 in No. 5 singles against Caldwell before adding a 8-1 win against the Cougars in No. 2 doubles. Posted a 6-2, 6-1 win while playing in No. 6 singles against Philadelphia.
CACC Men's Tennis Team Notes
Concordia - Concordia won two matches last week (at Caldwell, 9-0 and vs. Philadelphia U., 9-0) as the Clippers clinched the CACC regular season championship with an undefeated record in conference play for the third consecutive season. Concordia will conclude their regular season schedule this week starting with their final home match against Queens (N.Y.) on Monday afternoon. The Clippers will then travel to South Carolina to take on #9 Lander, Wingate and #10 Francis Marion during the end of the week.
