NEW HAVEN, Conn. (March 20, 2012) - Concordia sophomore Daniele Piludu has been named as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Tennis Player of the Week, for the period ending March 19. Chestnut Hill's Mike Humes was selected as the CACC Men's Tennis Rookie of the Week.

Daniele Piludu, Concordia (So., 5-11, Cagliari,
Italy)
Enjoyed an undefeated week that
saw him post an 6-0, 6-0 win while playing No. 1 singles and 8-1 in
No. 1 doubles in Clippers’ 9-0 shutout of USciences
(3/18). For the season boasts a 5-2 overall mark, including
2-0 when playing in No. 1 singles slot.

Rookie of the Week
Mike Humes, Chestnut Hill (Fr., 5-8, Medford,
N.J.)
Posted a perfect 2-0 record while playing in No. 1 singles slot for
the Griffins against Post (3/16) and Merimack (3/18). Also
went 1-1 while playing No. 2 doubles with a 8-0 victory vs.
Post. Owns a 5-2 overall singles record this season along
with a 4-2 mark when playing in top individual flight.

Improved to 7-1 overall in singles this season with 6-0, 6-0 win while playing in No. 3 position vs. USciences (3/18). Also won in No. 3 doubles against USciences (8-1) while making first doubles start.

Notes
Caldwell - Caldwell began the 2012 season under
new head coach Jan Marco Jiras on Sunday, losing a non-league dual
to St. Thomas Aquinas, 9-0. The Cougars face CACC foes
Philadelphia, Bloomfield and Chestnut Hill this week.
Concordia - Concordia opened up their CACC
schedule on Sunday afternoon as they shutout USciences 9-0. The
Clippers won 6-0, 6-0 in three of the six singles matches. This
week Concordia will host #33 Bluefield St. on Tuesday afternoon and
#48 Dist. of Columbia on Friday afternoon. For road games, the
Clippers will travel to face CACC foe Chestnut Hill College on
Wednesday afternoon and end the week at Bloomfield on Saturday.
