Chestnut Hill Sweeps CACC Weekly Men's Tennis Honors

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Chestnut Hill sophomore Manuel Ceniceros was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Tennis Player of the Week, while teammate Sammy Atri was recognized as the CACC Rookie of the Week, for the period ending March 12.

CACC Player of the Week
Manuel Ceniceros, Chestnut Hill (So., 5-6, Mexico City)

Earned two points for the Griffins in their 6-3 loss to Walsh University.  Teamed with Mike Humes to claim an 8-6 win on No. 2 doubles before pulling out a 7-5, 6-7 (9), 10-8 win in No. 3 singles.  Posted a 1-1 singles and 2-0 doubles record during spring trip in Hilton Head, S.C.

CACC Rookie of the Week
Sammy Atri, Chestnut Hill (Fr., 6-2, Mexico City)
Collected his first collegiate victory with 6-0, 6-4 triumph in No. 4 singles against Walsh University (3/4).

 

CACC Men’s Tennis Team Notes
Concordia - Concordia wrapped up their Florida trip this past Friday as they fell 9-0 to #3 ranked Armstrong Atlantic. With the loss, the Clippers are now 3-4 on the season as they look to bounce back during their only match this week. Concordia will open up their CACC schedule on Sunday, March 18th as they host USciences for a 1pm start at the Meyers Tennis Center.
