2012 CACC Men's Tennis Championship Set For This Weekend at Concordia
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (April 17, 2012) - Concordia College will enter this weekend's 2012 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Tennis Championship as the No. 1 seed after claiming the regular season title and will open play on its home courts in the semifinals on Saturday against No. 4 seed University of the Sciences.
The 2012 CACC Men's Tennis Championship will take place at the Meyers Tennis Center on the campus of Concordia College in Bronxville, N.Y., on April 21-22.
CACC semifinal action will begin Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with No. 1 seed Concordia facing No. 4 seed USciences. No. 2 seed Chestnut Hill and No. 3 seed Philadelphia will follow at 1:00 p.m. Saturday.
Saturday's semifinal winners wil square off on Sunday, April 22 at 12:00 p.m. for the 2012 CACC Conference Championship and automatic berth into the 2012 NCAA Division II Men's Tennis Championship.
Concordia finished the CACC regular season a perfect 6-0 in conference play and 15-7 overall to earn the No. 1 seed. The Clippers are ranked No. 7 nationally according to the ITA rankings entering the postseason and have captured the last two CACC Conference Championships.
Chestnut Hill is the No. 2 seed after finishing 5-1 in CACC action and 11-9 overall. The Griffins are ranked No. 7 in the latest East Regional rankings.
Philadelphia University is slotted at No. 3 entering this weekend's championship after a 4-2 conference finish while No. 4 seed USciences rounds out the CACC postseason qualifiers following a 3-3 league mark.
