BOLDAREV TABBED MEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Andrey Boldarev of Concordia College has been chosen the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Tennis Player of the Week on April 11. Clipper teammate David Tisserand was the pick for Rookie of the Week.

Boldarev, a 5-10 junior from Tashkent, Uzbekistan, went undefeated in singles play last week.  Ranked as the #10 singles player in the country, Boldarev defeated the #5, #8, and #30 singles players during the week.  He also went 2-1 in doubles with wins over the #16 and #18 teams.

Tisserand, a 6-1 freshman from Roquefort la Bedoule, France, went undefeated in singles play last week in South Carolina.  Went 2-1 in doubles defeating the pairs from Francis Marion and USC- Aiken.

Honorable Mention

Seppi Hutter, Philadelphia (Sr., 5-9, Bellvue, WA) - Went 2-0 on the week at #6 singles allowing just two points scored against him, and went 2-0 in #3 doubles with partner Tom McAvoy.  

Roger Van Scyoc, USciences (Jr., 5-6, Palmyra, PA) - Went 3-0 at the #5 singles slot this week  while recording a 2-1 doubles record, losing only to Haverford's  (regionally ranked in D-III) #3 team 8-6.

CACC Team Notes

Concordia - The Clippers went 3-0 on the week defeating #11 Lander, #14 Francis Marion and #30 USC Aiken.  The Clippers will finish their regular season CACC schedule as they face Post University this week.  The Clippers will also face ASA and St. John's University this coming week. 

Philadelphia - PhilaU men's tennis has now built a five-match win streak after picking up two 9-0 wins this week over Chestnut Hill and Bloomfield improving their overall record to 14-5, 4-1 CACC. The team returns to action as they face off against Cabrini College (4/11), West Chester University (4/14) and Post University (4/16).

USciences - The Devils dropped to 7-5 overall this week with their only win coming against Dowling College. Alvaro Vargas (Manizales, Columbia) and David Kazakevich (Richboro, Pa.)  continue to lead the Devils with identical 7-3 records at #1 and #2 singles respectively.   The two also play at #1 doubles together and have a 6-3 record.  USciences has their final two conference matches of the season this week, hosting Chestnut Hill College on Wednesday and traveling to Caldwell College on Saturday.
