CONCORDIA'S ANDREY BOLDAREV GARNERS ALL-AMERICA HONORS FROM ITA
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (June 27, 2011) – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released its 2011 men’s tennis All-America teams and Concordia junior Andrey Boldarev earned a spot on the list.
Boldarev, a junior from Tashkent, Uzbekistan, helped lead
Concordia to its third straight NCAA Tournament semi-final
appearance and its second straight Central Atlantic Collegiate
Conference (CACC) Championship in May. For the season,
Boldarev boasted a 19-5 singles
record and a 17-7 doubles mark (all in dual match play).
Boldarev repeated as doubles and singles ITA East Regional Champion and headed back to the ITA National Tournament. At nationals, Boldarev finished third in the the singles tournament and fourth in doubles.
Boldarev finished the season ranked eighth in the country in singles and 12th in doubles while maintaining the No. 1 ranking in both singles and doubles in the East Region.
