MISSAL NAMED MEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Felix Missal of Concordia College was named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Week for Men's Tennis. Concordia's Andreas Lindell was selected as the CACC Rookie of the Week.
Missal, a 6-0 sophomore from Dusseldorf, Germany, went 3-0 in both singles and doubles last week. He won at #2 singles against Bloomfield and was victorious in his #1 match against Philadelphia. Missal also won at his #2 doubles match against Division I Fairleigh Dickinson.
Lindell, a 6-1 freshman from Helingsborg Skane, Sweden, went 3-0 this week in singles and doubles, surrendering only three games in each all week. He played #4 singles against Philadelphia and #3 vs. Bloomfield. Lindell won his #1 doubles match against the Deacons.
Honorable Mention
Bill Fine, USP (So., West Chester, PA) - Went undefeated on the week, recording a 2-0 singles record and 3-0 doubles mark.
Julius Twyman, Chestnut Hill (So., Coatesville, PA) - Went 2-1 at No. 3 singles and No. 2 doubles last week.
CACC Team Notes
Chestnut Hill - The Griffins opened the week with a 6-3 win over USP, who is currently ranked above CHC in the ITA East Region. The team finished the week with a 9-0 win over Post University to begin their 2010 CACC schedule with back-to-back victories.
USP - The Devils earned their first wins of the 2009-10 season over the weekend, defeating Bloomfield College and Caldwell College to improve to 2-1 in conference play and 2-5 overall.
