DOBROTKA NAMED CACC MEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Tamas Dobrotka of Concordia College was named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Tennis Player of the Week on April 5 after going 2-0 in both singles and doubles last week. Kyle Burke of Philadelphia University was selected as the Rookie of the Week.

Dobrotka, a 6-4 junior from Ada, Serbia, went 2-0 in singles and doubles last week, giving up a total of three games (one in singles, two in doubles) as the Clippers went 2-0 on the week. Dobrotka leads the team with nine victories this season.

Burke, a 5-10 freshman from Wakefield, R.I., went undefeated in singles and doubles last week to help the Rams notch victories over Chestnut Hill and USP. He played the No. 1 doubles spot and manned the No. 3 singles position.

Honorable Mention

Manoli Sgouros, Philadelphia (So., 5-7, Forest Hills, NY) - Went undefeated on the week, recording 2-0 marks in both #2 singles and #1 doubles.

Ricardo Martins, USP (Sr., 6-0, Sao Paulo, Brazil) - Went 2-0 at No. 1 singles and 1-1 in No. 1 doubles last week.

Andreas Lindell, Concordia (Fr., 6-1, Helsingborg Skane, Sweden) - Went 1-0 in singles and 2-0 in doubles last week.

Julius Twyman, Chestnut Hill (So., 6-0, Coatesville, PA) - Went 2-1 in both singles and doubles for the Griffins last week.

CACC Team Notes

Chestnut Hill - Chestnut Hill College suffered conference losses this week to Philadelphia University and Concordia College, two of the regions’ top ten teams. The Griffins’ win was a 9-0 defeat of Bloomfield College to earn their third CACC win of the year.

Philadelphia - The Rams defeated Chestnut Hill and USP in conference matches last week. The team’s consistent play has given them a #3 regional ranking thus far. The Rams will face three conference matches this week against Caldwell, Bloomfield and Concordia.
