TOROELLA-CRUZ CLAIMS FIRST CACC MEN'S TENNIS WEEKLY AWARDS

NEW HAVEN, CT - Adrian Toroella-Cruz of Philadelphia University
has claimed the first-ever Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference
(CACC) Men's Tennis weekly awards, as he was named the Player and
Rookie of the Week today. The CACC is sponsoring men's tennis for
the first time this season.
Toroella-Cruz, a freshman from Gainesville, FL, went 5-1 on the week at No. 1 singles for the Rams, suffering his only loss to Chicago State. He helped lead the Rams to a 3-3 record while in Florida over spring break. At No. 1 doubles, he went 4-2 with teammate Manoli Sgouros.
Honorable Mention
Steve Hlava, Chestnut Hill (Fr., 6-4, Glenmore, PA) - Went 2-1 at No. 3 singles for the week, earning wins against Lincoln and Millersville.
CACC Notes
Philadelphia - The Rams went 3-3 on the week, facing some
stellar competition in Florida over spring break. Freshman Adrian
Torroella-Cruz continued his winning ways going 5-1 on the week at
#1 singles, and a not too shabby 4-2 at #2 doubles with teammate
Manoli Sgouros. PhilaU has their CACC-opener on Tuesday, March 24
at Caldwell at 3:00 p.m.
