NYACK RECEIVES FIRST-EVER BID TO NCAA MEN'S SOCCER EAST REGION TOURNAMENT

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (November 8, 2011) – Nyack College has claimed its first-ever bid to the NCAA Division II East Region Tournament, as the NCAA selection committee released this year's championship bracket. The Warriors received the No. 6 seed in the region and will face No. 3 C.W. Post University at Southern New Hampshire University on Friday, Nov. 11, at 6:00 pm in the opening round.

Nyack is coming off its second Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship in three seasons with a 1-0 overtime victory over top-seeded Post University last Saturday. The game was tied, 0-0, into the 98th minute until Nyack junior Josh Hacking netted his first goal of the season to give the Warriors the dramatic victory.

Nyack enters the NCAA Tournament with a 13-5-2 record, while C.W. Post is 16-2-1. The Warriors and Pioneer already met once this season, with Nyack notching a 1-0 upset victory on Oct. 18 when C.W. Post was ranked fifth in the nation.  Arturo Garcia scored Nyack's goal in the 73rd minute.

The winner of Friday's match will face No. 2 seed Southern New Hampshire on Sunday at 1:00 pm. Franklin Pierce University is the top seed in the region.
