CHESTNUT HILL ANNOUNCES MEN'S SOCCER RECRUITING CLASS

Philadelphia, PA – Head Coach Keith Cappo and his staff at Chestnut Hill College have announced their incoming men's soccer recruiting class. Fourteen newcomers will join the Griffins this fall.
Head Coach Keith Cappo and his staff are very excited about the depth and talent coming in with this year’s recruiting class, “All of the incoming student-athletes will give us depth throughout and will contribute from the very first practice. From goalkeeper to the forwards we have added some great talent to an already gifted and competitive environment.” Chestnut Hill College (9-10, 5-6 CACC) posted their best season as Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) finish in 2010 and with The 2011 recruiting class is rich with individuals who excelled on the field, in the classroom, and in their communities, with such high character student-athletes joining the roster Coach Cappo is intrigued with the possibilities, “Each player coming in has had success at the club and high school levels. Many of the incoming players will be able to compete for spots immediately, and with a majority of our 2010 team returning we expect this class to help continue the success from last year and get us to the next level in 2011.”
James Annobil (London, England/Wissahickon) - Defense
Annobil was an All-Suburban One defender for Wissahickon High School as a senior and he was listed as a 2011 “Player to Watch” according to TopDrawerSoccer.com. As a club competitor, Annobil is a member of FC Delco and previously played for the Queens Park Rangers Football Club of London, England.
Colin Boyle (Mount Bethel, PA/Bangor Area) – Defense
A three-sport (soccer, track, and basketball) athlete at Bangor Area High School, Boyle represented the best the Slaters have to offer as the school’s Scholar-Athlete of 2011. He was a four-year starter for the Slaters soccer program and a two-time Defensive Most Valuable Player (MVP) when Bangor won back-to-back Colonial League North Division titles in 2009 and 2010. The Slaters set all-time records in wins (15), shutouts (9), and goals-against-average in 2010. On the club level, Boyle was a member of the Lehigh Valley Magic.
Kevin Bushbeck (Philadelphia, PA/Father Judge) – Midfield/Forward
As one of the Crusaders most versatile and potent offensive options, Bushbeck was a three-time All-Catholic performer at Father Judge High School (2008-2010). He led the team in assists (9) and totaled 18 points (9 goals, 9 assists) in his senior campaign. Bushbeck helped the Crusaders to a 2009 Pennsylvania State Championship.
Channing Couillard (Jacksonville, FL/Fletcher) – Forward
The leading goal scorer for Fletcher High School, Couillard was an All-Gateway Conference selection and Third Team All-Florida performer according to the Florida State Soccer Association (FSSA). Couillard was a Region 3 Premier League Champion with the Fury of the Jacksonville Youth Soccer Club. He led the Fury in assists helping the club to #1 regional ranking according to GotSoccer.com.
Michael Hester (Seaford, NY/MacArthur) – Midfield
Hester served as team captain during his senior season at MacArthur High School, where he was an All-County and All-Nassau Conference performer (2010). He was a recipient of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Senior Excellence Award in 2010.
Matt Kerns (Philadelphia, PA/Father Judge) - Midfield
A teammate of Kevin Bushbeck, Kerns was also a 2010 All-Catholic performer at Father Judge High School and member of the 2009 State Championship Team. Kerns was a four-year varsity athlete for the Crusaders.
Dave King (Philadelphia, PA/Holy Ghost Preparatory) – Defense/Midfield
At Holy Ghost Preparatory School, King was an All-Bicentennial Athletic League selection for the District 1 Champion 2010. He also helped the Yardley Makefield Soccer (YMS) Thunder to back-to-back Pennsylvania State Championships (2009 and 2010) and a regional championship in 2011. In 2010, the YMS Thunder was ranked #1 in Pennsylvania and their region, and as high as #11 nationally according to GotSoccer.com.
Eric Kissinger (Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson) - Goalkeeper
Kissinger was part of eight shutouts during his senior campaign, an all-time record at Cinnaminson High School. On the club level, he is a member of the South Jersey Elite Barons.
Brett Krajewski (Mahwah, NJ/Mahwah) – Defense
Krajewski was a two-year, starting defenseman at Mahwah High School. He is also a member of the New Jersey Stallions Academy.
Matt Lukachinsky (Sugar Notch, PA/Hanover Area) – Forward
Lukachinsky was a four-year starter at Hanover Area High School, where established himself as the all-time leader in goals (76), assists (34), and points (110). He was Hanover Area High School’s Outstanding Male Athlete of the Year in his senior campaign (2010), for which he also earned the soccer team’s Most Valuable Player award. Lukachinsky was a three-time All-Wyoming Valley selection (2008-2010) and also competed as a member of the Lower Valley Hurricanes and the Upper 90’s Arsenal club teams.
David Schlentz (West Chester, PA/Henderson) – Defense/Midfield
Earning a First Team All-Chesmont selection and an All-Area Honorable Mention in his senior season, Schlentz finished his time at West Chester High School on a high note. He garnered a Mel Lorback Soccer Scholarship, a Jack Shapiro Soccer Scholarship, and a 2010 West Chester United Soccer Club Youth Leadership Award. On the club level, Schlentz is a member of the West Chester United Soccer Club.
Patrick Steger (La Plata, MD/La Plata) – Forward
Steger was a two-time First Team All-Charles County (2010 and 2011) selection (Second Team, 2009) and a two-time Offensive Player of the Year for La Plata High School. He was also a First Team All-Southern Maryland Athletic Conference selection in 2011 after earning a Second Team selection in 2010. Over his high school career, Steger tallied 31 goals while leading La Plata High School to multiple 3A-South Regional Tournaments. He was also a three-time Scholar Athlete (2008-2010).
Dave Sullivan (Kutztown, PA/Kutztown) – Goalkeeper
Sullivan was a four-year starter at Kutztown High School, where he earned All-Berks County status in 2010. He is currently playing for the FC Revolution of the National Premier Soccer League, whom with he played for in the Gothia Cup of Sweden. The Gothia Cup is the largest youth tournament in the world.
Bob Vetrano (Ocean Township, NJ/Ocean Township) – Forward/Defense
Vetrano was an All-Shore Conference competitor for Ocean Township High School in 2010 and he serves as the team captain for the Ocean Tide Soccer Club of New Jersey. A versatile player, Vetrano has played both forward and defense for both teams.
