Former Dominican College Men's Soccer Standout Jhonny Arteaga Signed by NY Red Bulls

New Haven, Conn. (March 15, 2012) - Former Dominican College men's soccer standout, Jhonny Arteaga, has signed a professional contract with the New York Red Bulls. Arteaga, was one of four players added to the roster after a successful preseason training camp.
A four-year member of the Chargers soccer team, Arteaga was a two-time All-CACC First Team selection and was the 2007 CACC Player of the Year.
During his senior season, Arteaga led the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) in points, goals and game-winning goals and also ranked second with six assists. He scored 12 more points and four more goals than anyone else in the conference while leading Dominican to its fourth consecutive CACC regular-season championship.
In 2007, he was also named to the Daktronics All-New England Region First Team and to the Daktronics NCAA Division II All-America First Team.
Arteaga, 25, most recently played for USL Pro side FC New York in 2011. Arteaga led USL Pro this past season with 13 goals, and scored 16 in all competitions. In 2010, he featured for Polish third division side LKS Lomza, for whom he scored an impressive eight goals in just 14 appearances. Prior to playing in Poland, Arteaga played for USL PDL side Westchester Flames in 2009 and the Western Mass Pioneers of the USL Second Division in 2008.
