RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Simon Nee of Weehawken has been named the head men’s soccer coach at Felician College, director of athletics Ben DiNallo Jr. announced today. Nee was an assistant coach with the Golden Falcons for the last three seasons.
Nee enters his first collegiate head coaching position. Since 2006, he has been the manager for education and training of the New York Red Bulls Training Programs. He holds his USSF and UEFA ‘A’ coaching licenses and an NSCAA Premier Diploma. In August 2008 he was named NSCAA State Technical Director for New York and New Jersey, and has been accepted to the NSCAA Master Coaching Diploma course.
A native of Stoke-on-Trent, England, Nee played for Staffordshire University before graduating with a BSc in sports psychology in 2000. He was a member of the semi-professional Newcastle Town club before moving to the U.S.
Nee is the fourth head coach in Felician history. He replaces Patrick Snyder, who resigned after three seasons.
Felician, an NCAA Division II member, plays in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference. The Golden Falcons are coming off a 4-13-1 won-lost-tied record in 2009.
