WILMINGTON AND DOMINICAN MEN'S SOCCER RANKED IN REGION; WU 16TH IN NATION

NEW HAVEN, CT (September 9, 2009) - After a tough 1-0 loss to No. 10 Southern New Hampshire, the Wilmington University men's soccer team dropped to 16th in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division II Top-25 Poll. The Wildcats are second in the East Region poll, behind the Penmen, while fellow Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) member Dominican College moved up to the fourth spot.

Wilmington, which is now 4-1 this year, rebounded after the loss to Southern New Hampshire to upend Bridgeport at home, 5-1. The Purple Knights are ranked fifth in this week's East Region poll.

Dominican moved from sixth to fourth in the East after a 2-0-1 week to improve to 3-0-1 this season. The Chargers traveled to the region's No. 6 team, Le Moyne, and played to a scoreless tie. They followed with victories over American International and Merrimack to end the week.
