GLADIC PICKS UP CACC MEN'S SOCCER WEEKLY AWARD

NEW HAVEN, CT - Philadelphia University's Svetozar Gladic has picked up Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Soccer Player of the Week honors for the week ending Sunday, Sept. 13. Pat Greer of Chestnut Hill College was tabbed Rookie of the Week.

Gladic, a 5-11 senior forward from Novi Sad, Serbia, led Philadelphia to a 2-0 week with four goals, including the game-winning score in both contests. He netted a hat trick in a CACC-opening win over Felician College in a 3-1 triumph. Earlier in the week, he found the back of the net in overtime to give the Rams a 3-2 overtime win over East Stroudsburg University.

Greer, a 5-9 freshman midfielder from Philadelphia, PA, scored the game-winning goal off a rebound from a direct kick in a 2-1 victory over NYIT. It was the first win of the season for the Griffins.

Honorable Mention

Sargbah Tarpeh, Wilmington (Sr., F, 5-11, Philadelphia, PA) - Tallied four goals and one assist in a 2-1 week for the Wildcats. Notched a hat trick at Nyack in the CACC opener for both teams.

Joe Wright, Dominican (Sr., F, 6-0, Stratford-Upon-Avon, England) - Registered two goals in a 1-0-1 week for the Chargers, including his team's only score in a 1-1 tie against Holy Family and a 1-0 win at UMass-Lowell.

Maurice Blanton, Chestnut Hill (Jr., D, 6-1, Bristol, PA) - Converted three pentalty kicks in a    1-0-1 week for the Griffins.

CACC Notes

Caldwell - The Cougars lost to Queens College, 2-1 in their only game of the week. Junior forward Rob Arena scored his first goal of the season in the loss. Saturday's game against Post was postponed due to rain. Caldwell plays on the road this week at Dowling on Tuesday and at Chestnut Hill on Saturday.

Chestnut Hill - Junior Maurice Blanton set the Chestnut Hill record for penalty kick goals in a season (4-for-4). Upcoming: 9/17 @ Goldey-Beacom College 4:00 pm, 9/19 vs. Caldwell College 3:00 pm

Felician - Senior F Quincy Small is believed to be the first player in school history to have two hat tricks in as little as a four-game span.

Holy Family - Holy Family earned a 1-1 tie with Dominican in its CACC opener on Saturday. Midfielder Ryan McNamee scored his first goal of the season in the contest. Goalkeeper Mark Ferretti stopped six shots. Forward Tim Weglicki is the team leader with three goals. Ferretti has posted in 0.77 goals against average in the first five games of the season. This week, Holy Family (3-1-1, 0-0-1 CACC) visits Philadelphia on Thursday and hosts Felician on Saturday.

Nyack - Gavin Penny (Dagenham, England) netted his first scoring strike of the season in last week's 5-1 loss to Dowling.

Philadelphia - The Rams went 2-0 this week, as Svetozar Gladic caught fire, scoring four goals in two games including two game-winning scores. The team will host both Holy Family (9/17) and Nyack (9/19) in home contests this week.
