WILMINGTON'S TARPEH NAMED MEN'S SOCCER PLAYER OF WEEK FOR SECOND TIME

NEW HAVEN, CT - Sargbah Tarpeh of Wilmington University has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Soccer Player of the Week for the second time this season. Mike Goldstein of Chestnut Hill College was tabbed Rookie of the Week.

Tarpeh, a 5-11 senior forward from Philadelphia, PA, recorded five goals and three assists in a 3-0 week to extend Wilmington's win streak to nine games. He notched three goals and one assist against Concordia and added one goal and two assists versus Goldey-Beacom.

Goldstein, a 5-8 freshman goalie from Pennsauken, NJ, allowed just one goal in two games (200 minutes) last week, including a 1-0 upset victory over Philadelphia University. He came up with 15 saves on the week, including 10 against the Rams.

Honorable Mention

Brandon Heembrock, Dominican (So., GK, 6-2, Ottawa, Canada) - Posted two shutouts last week, against Felician and Nyack. Had 10 total saves.

Andy Aguilar, Bloomfield (So., M, 6-0, Bayonne, NJ) - Netted the game's only goal in a 1-0 triumph over Holy Family.

Mike Mousaw, Philadelphia (Jr., M, 5-5, Marmora, NJ) - Tallied the game-winning goal in a 2-1 win at Caldwell.

Maurice Johnson, Post (Sr., F, 6-0, Kingston, Jamaica) - Scored two goals last week, against Goldey-Beacom and Concordia.

CACC Notes

Bloomfield - The Deacons moved to 3-3-1 and into a tie for fourth-place in the CACC with a 1-0 victory over Holy Family. Andy Aguilar's goal was one of 38 shots fired by the Deacons, a season-high. The team returns to action on Wednesday, Oct. 14, against Felician at 3:00 pm.

Caldwell - The Cougars went 1-2 in CACC home games last week, losing to Nyack and Philadelphia and beating Post in overtime. Sophomore midfielder Carlos Sanchez scored the game-winner in the 98th minute. Both of Sanchez's two career goals have come in overtime.

Felician - Senior M Diego Ocampo scored his first goal as a Golden Falcon in Felician's 1-1 home draw with Chestnut Hill on Saturday. Ocampo is in his second year with Felician after transferring from the County College of Morris.

Nyack - Goalkeeper Adrian Ibanez (Toronto, Canada) recorded his third shutout of the season in Tuesday's 1-0 win over Caldwell. Gavin Penny (Dagenham, England) scored the Warriors lone goal of the week, his fourth on the season, on a pass from Bobby Caskran (Valrico, FL).

Philadelphia - The Rams went 1-1 on the week, highlighted by a 2-1 road win at Caldwell. The best news for PhilaU was offense provided from a new group of players, including junior Mike Mousaw and sophomore Ian Martin. The team travels to Wilmington (10/14) and then hosts Concordia (10/17) this week.
