CALDWELL, N.J. (May 17, 2012) - Caldwell College Executive Director of Athletics and men's basketball coach Mark A. Corino was selected to serve on the NCAA Men's Basketball Rules Committee. He began his four-year term by attending the Rules Committee meeting May 6-9 in Indianapolis, Ind.

The NCAA Men's Basketball Rules Committee consists of 12 administrators and basketball coaches representing all three of the NCAA's divisions, and a non-voting secretary-editor who is the official rules interpreter. The committee is responsible for monitoring the rules throughout the season and making recommendations for adjustments and additions to the Playing Rules Oversight Panel.

"This committee is unique, because it is multi-divisional," said Corino, who just completed his 24th year as the Executive Director of Athletics and men's basketball coach at Caldwell. "I have served on other committees that were specific to Division II, but this is the first time I've been on a committee with representatives from Division I and III institutions."

This year's meeting centered on topics such as decals on the court, sportsmanship of coaches and bench personnel, reviewing plays on replay monitors, and blocking/charging calls.

"I'm looking forward to actively participating on this committee and contributing to the game of basketball, which has meant so much to me," Corino said.
