NEW HAVEN, Conn. (March 7, 2012) - Bloomfield's Ahmad Harris and Dominican's Cory Quimby, the 2012 Co-CACC Men's Basketball Players of the Year, have been named to the Daktronics NCAA Division II All-East Region Squads.

Harris was named to the 2012 Daktronics NCAA Division II All-East Region First Team after guiding the Deacons to the CACC North Division Title with a 24-7 overall mark and their second consecutive CACC Tournament Championship.  Harris posted a scoring average of 10.4 ppg and led the conference in assists (210), steals (72) and assist/turnover ratio (2.9).

Quimby was named to the 2012 Daktronics NCAA Division II All-East Region Second Team after leading Dominican to a 19-9 overall mark and a second place finish in the CACC North Division.  The junior center ranked second among conference leaders in scoring average at 18.1 ppg.  In addition, Quimby pulled down 11.4 rebounds per game, which ranks second among NCAA leaders.

Both Harris and Quimby were recognized with All-East Region status for the first time in their careers.

Joining Harris on the first team is Stefan Bonneau (C.W. Post), who was named the 2012 East Region Player of the Year, Eric Jean-Guillaume (Franklin Pierce), Robert Johnson (Adelphi) and Nigel Munson (District of Columbia).

The second team includes Wayne Mack (Merrimack), Darian David (Bridgeport), Ellis Cooper (Frankilin Pierce), Michael Holton, Jr. (Saint Michael's) and Quimby.

The 2011-12 Daktronics men's basketball All-America team will be announced in conjunction with the NCAA Division II Elite Eight in Highland Heights, Ky., on Tuesday, March 20. The five first-team members from each of the country's eight regions are placed on the national ballot with Division II SIDs selecting first, second and third-team All-America honorees.
