FELICIAN'S YOUNG REPEATS AS ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College senior Devon Young (Monmouth Junction, NJ/South Brunswick) has been voted to the Capital One Academic All-District Men’s Basketball First Team for the College Division in District II, as coordinated and selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
As a First Team selection, Young will move on to represent
Felician on the Academic All-America ballot. He was a Second Team
selection in 2009-10, and is the second student-athlete in Felician
history in any sport, and first male, to be voted Academic
All-District twice.
Young is Felician’s all-time scoring leader, currently
with 1,814 points. This season, he ranks second in the CACC with
19.9 points per game and 15th in rebounding with a 6.6
average. A three-year Golden Falcon
captain, Young owns a 3.70 GPA as an accounting major,
and is also a two-time Arthur Ashe Sports Scholar and two-time
Academic All-CACC honoree.
The Golden Falcons have an overall won-lost record of
8-11. With seven league games remaining, they are in sixth place in
the CACC North Division with a 4-7 league mark.
CoSIDA’s District II is comprised of Delaware, Maryland,
New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and the District of
Columbia. The College Division consists of all non-Division I
institutions.
