STINSON TABBED MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Cecil Stinson of Post University has been tabbed the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, Nov. 28. Alberto Munoz of Holy Family University was named Rookie of the Week.

Stinson, a 6-0 guard from Montclair, N.J., led Post to victories over Le Moyne and C.W. Post last week with an average of 14.5 points per-game on 9-for-22 (.410) shooting and 6-for-13 (.461) accuracy from three-point range. He tallied 16 points in a 69-57 win over Le Moyne and added 13 points against C.W. Post.

Munoz, a 6-4 freshman guard from Morrisville, N.C., tallied 23 points on 8-for-16 shooting and added eight rebounds and one assist in a victory at Chowan. He also went 8-for-9 from the charity stripe.

Honorable Mention

Jim Connolly, Philadelphia (So., G, 6-3, Harleysville, PA) - In a 1-1 week, averaged 17.0 points and 5.5 rebounds per-game.  

Brandon Williams, Chestnut Hill (Sr., G, 6-1, Philadelphia, PA) - Had 22 points, seven assists and three rebounds in a loss to Slippery Rock. 

Adewale Adefemi, USci (Sr., F, 6-4, Chesilhurst, NJ) - Dropped the winning FT's in a 51-49 win vs. Bloomsburg. Had seven points, eight rebounds, four assists and two steals.

CACC Notes

Chestnut Hill - In his first start for the Griffins, junior guard Uros Kovacevic (Kotor, Montenegro) supplied ten points (3-7 FG, 2-5 3PT, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, three assists, and one steal against Slippery Rock.

Holy Family - Holy Family picked up its second win in its last three games after defeating Chowan University, 74-67, on Saturday.  The Tigers rallied in the second half to come back and defeat the Hawks as freshman Alberto Munoz and junior Tim Smith combined for 26 points in the second half.  Munoz finished with a game-high 23 points and had eight rebounds, while Smith tallied 17 points and nine assists. Holy Family opens conference play Wednesday, Dec. 1 at home against Wilmington University.  Game time is slated for 8 p.m.

Philadelphia - Coach Herb Magee's squad was 1-1 this week. The Rams move along in their schedule as they fight to defend home court against conference foe Goldey-Beacom on Wednesday (12/1) in the Gallagher Center.

Post - Cecil Stinson's only two free throws of the game against CW Post iced a 77-73 victory for Post University Sunday afternoon. On the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, Stinson tallied 16 points in Post's first win of the season, 69-57 over Le Moyne College.  This week features only one game as Post dips into conference play with a road game against Dominican College on Wednesday December 1.

USciences - For the first time since the 2007-08 season, the Devils have defeated two PSAC opponents in the same season, having upended both West Chester University and Bloomsburg University. Senior Adewale Adefemi (Chesilhurst, N.J.) nailed two free throws in the final 7.6 seconds against Bloomsburg to seal the win for the Devils- the second straight game where he has come up with the big play that helped decide the outcome.  Two PSAC opponents are on tap for the Devils this week as they face East Stroudsburg University on Tuesday and Kutztown University on Saturday.   Both games are at the Bobby Morgan Arena.
